PRIYANKA HAS NO PROBLEM WITH AMISHA

Rumors were rife that the two actresses Priyanka Chopra and Ameesha Patel were spitting cold vibes while shooting for Dharmesh Darshan’s ‘Aap Ki Khatir’ in London. Some said that the actresses who were supposed to be playing sisters in the film were more bitter than strangers in real life. But now Priyanka Chopra begs to differ.

How was the experience of working with Dharmesh Darshan?
It was good. All of us had a great time, except that it was minus 5 degrees Celsius where we were shooting in Ludlow (on the outskirts of London). The climactic conditions were unbearable. To top it, I had to wear chiffons and skirts for my scenes. I’d do the shots in the freezing cold, rush to the car and turn on the heater on full blast. A month of blowing cold and blowing hot has taken its toll on my health. Now I’m down with fever. But there was a lot of warmth among us actors - Akshaye Khanna, Dino, Ameesha, Anupam, Lilette, Suniel Shetty - despite the fact that I hadn’t worked with them before. I love the outdoors. But I also love to come home.

Was Dharmesh the right director for you?
Yes. Although I hadn’t worked with him before I had worked with his brother Suneel, and Dharmesh used to be around. He was very supportive when I began my career. Aap Ki Khatir is not a typical Dharmesh Darshan film. It’s in keeping with contemporary life. Dharmesh was very open to ideas and suggestions. Akshaye Khanna is a fantastic actor. I had a great time emoting with him. I also worked with Ameesha for the first time. She’s very, very sweet. We used to play word games together while waiting for our shots.

But according to rumours, Ameesha and you fought bitterly?
No, we didn’t! I’ve never had any problems with any of my co-stars. Whether it’s Lara in Andaz or Bebo (Kareena) in Aitraaz, I’ve never faced tension with any of my co-stars. I guess it makes interesting news for the media to report about two female stars fighting against each other. So, why don’t we ever read about two male stars doing the same? Why are only women chosen for such rumours? I pride myself on getting along with most of my co-stars. It’s true that Ameesha and I didn’t socialise after pack-up. After the shoot, I used to spend time with my physical trainer, training for my role in Don. But we got along pretty well on the sets.

Apparently your constant training for Don got on people's nerves?
I was using my time after shooting. How would that affect anyone?

What else did you catch up with in England?
Nothing. Between shooting and training for Don I had no time for anything. In the last three years, I’ve had no time for anything apart from work.

What about a social life, boyfriends, dates, pubs?
What makes you think I don’t enjoy what I’m doing? As for a boyfriend, I haven’t yet found anyone to whom I’m willing to give all my time and attention. I’d rather give my entire self to my work.
