Bipasha Basu crowns Pakistani comedian

Game is over now. Result is out. After 18 weeks and enthralling the whole nation with wit, laughter and comedy, Pakistan’s popular Karachi based stand-up and stage comedian Rauf Lala has won the title of ‘Hasi Ka Shahenshah’. He has been voted the ‘Hasi Ka Shahenshah’ on Star One’s ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge Diwitya’.

Bollywood’s hot gorgeous gal Bipasha Basu was the celebrity Judge with the permanent judges – Shekhar Suman and Navjot Singh Sidhu. And she crowned the winner and handed over him the keys of the brand new sparkling Chevrolet Aveo.

Since on the final round there were seven talented finalists including Rauf Lala and amongst them Mumbai’s Rajeev Nigam got the position of 1st runner up whereas Agra’s Pratap Fauzdar and Chandigarh’s Khayali Saharan shared the trophy for the 2nd runner-up position.  

The overjoyed Rauf Lala shared his views on his winning the title, “When my name was announced I thought I was dreaming! I am absolutely ecstatic right now and humbled to be sharing the same stage as icons like Sidhusaab and Shekharbhai. I am sure everyone back home in Pakistan will be very proud and happy with my achievements today. I want to extend my gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Star One, the people of India and everyone from The Great Indian Laughter Challenge ‘Dwitiya’ for this opportunity and for honoring me with this wonderful title.  Allah has been very kind to me.”

He has been on stage for last two decades and has the honor of sharing the stage with the legendary Pakistani comedian of international repute Omar Sharif. Rauf has also worked in the popular Pakistani comedy stage play ‘Bakra Kistoon Pay’ where he appeared with the two legends of comedy ‘Omar Sharif and Moeen Akhtar (Whole Bollywood knows this personality since he has anchored many Bollywood shows around the globe – a very talented artist of international repute).
