10 Bollywood films that should be remade:

Remakes are the new mantra, everyone is remaking the olden goldies, be it Farhan Akhtar who is making Don or RGV whose remaking Sholay. But the innovative part is that these films are going to made with an all new setup and an all new background, so this time around we wont have a Gabbar yelling "Kitne aadmi the", Instead it will be a sophisticated underworld don mouthing his upmarket dialogues. But some of the oldies cannot be adapted into the pretext of the current generation, they just have to be made as it is, like Umrao Jaan which the original diva Rekha immortalised and probably Sahib, Biwi aur Ghulam.

Some films like Devdas and Parineeta have already been remade and tasted success.

Here are my TOP 10 flicks that I think definitely needs to be remade

10. Arth
This was the most intriguing film about a man, wife and the other woman, a film which was an autobiography of the director himself (Mahesh Bhatt). It would take a very talented director to squeeze out such sensitive performances from the lead actors, I guess Sanajay Leela Bhansali should give it a try.

9. Karz
A cult film as it is called now but panned by critics then, I don't know why no one is noticing this film as a bankable film formula for a remake. If someone does, my vote goes to Saif Ali Khan for Rishi Kapoor's role and maybe Kajol in Simi Garewals role.

8. Lahme
A film that didn't go well with the audiences at that point as it was way ahead of its times, but I guess with the new sect of audiences called the "multiplex audiences" it should do well this time around.

7. Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahin
A breezy romantic comedy by Mahesh Bhatt about a spoiled daughter and a cool father, this film could be remade with Abhishiek Bachchan and Aishwariya Rai probably but I cant think of anyone replacing Anupam Kher. Any buyers?

6. Maine Pyaar Kiya
Hardly any newcomers can boast of a movie like this and if its ever remade it should again be with raw novices.

5. Bombay To Goa
The 70's laugh riot in which Big B was a newcomer himself. Perhaps this time it should be a flight full of buffoons and maybe we could call it Mumbai to London.

4. Sadma
This film had Sridevi and Kamal Hasan's most memorable performances but i doubt do we have actors of their calibre today to play those roles to perfection.............but its just a thought.

3. Andaz Apna Apna
The craziest film ever, I hope this get made again with today's popular actors. How about Saif, Abhishiek, Lara and Priyanka?

2. Dilwaale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge
The most romantic film of the last decade and the longest running film till date, this film should be remade but maybe not so soon, probably after a couple of years and who knows Shahrukh Khan's son and Kajol's daughter will be big enough to do the main leads and recreate the magic that their parents captivated the screen with.

1. Sholay
It had to be this, what else could be more entertaining than this? Every character was so well sketched in the original and it will only take a director like RGV who can bring all those unforgettable characters back to life. The bonus is the legend himself, Mr. Amiabh Bachchan will play Gabbar Singh. Cant wait to see this one.
