Director:
Deepak Tijori Radio Sargam Rating: 4/10 Deepak Tijori has done a fareb with the audience with this week’s, sex cum suspence messer! Continuing with the job of spoiling the script (OOPS! and KHAMOSHH - KHAUFF KI RAAT) he comes with another joke called, “Fareb”. FAREB is a love triangle, revolving around a man torn between love (wife) and lust (the other woman), with a dash of suspense. But where is actually the suspense, it is not clear once you have seen the movie. The beginning of the story is good, this at least we can say but after that nothing is left there to watch unless and until you are going for the sex scenes. Even, the so called scenes of sex are not worth watching as the chemistry between Shamita and Manoj does not reflect the same passion as reflected by Mallika Sherawat in Murder. The story starts with the happily married couple Aditya (Manoj Bajpai) and Neha (Shilpa Shetty). Their life is a perfect symbol to everybody’s dream of a married life, where Aditya is a creative director in an advertising agency and his wife Neha, is a medical practitioner, devoted to her husband and kid. The triangle of this story is complete with Riya (Shamita), a desperate women looking for lust. Riya was previously married to a corporate biggie (Bakul Thakker), a client of Aditya, who was killed. Things take a turn when Riya and Aditya meet at their AD presentation and she gets attracted to him. Riya is attracted by Aditya’s Charm[ ?] and tries to seduce him time and again. Her husband resting soundly in his grave, Riya is the kind of women who would go to any length to get the man she desires. Aditya, to whom life means his wife, Neha and his son, obviously tries to ignore Riya and starts disliking her for what she does. But poor Aditya, being a man gives in to the temptation and starts romancing with Riya, though he feels guilty of being unfaithful to his wife. Neha’s suspicion holds true which leads to a rift between Aditya and Neha. But things get serious when a person starts to blackmail Aditya in the name of those photos where he is being seduced by Riya. Then comes another twist, Riya is murdered. Since all the evidence point towards Adiyta, he is arrested by police (Kelly Dorjee) who is also investigating the murder of Riya’s husband. Now, here the problems seep in as the movie gets slow, baseless and one of those routine murder-mysteries. From the motive and identity of the blackmailer to the actual culprit in the finale, the plot gets too expected and film looks like a waste of time. The writer has failed very badly to take further the story once the identity of Shamita as playgirl is revealed. The wife Neha goes in search of Photographer called Chander Verma the one who was blackmailing Aditya, and on her request tells in the court that Riya had killed her own husband and was sleeping with Aditya and many others! Also Aditya had nothing to do with Riya’s murder! And imagine on that note Court releases Aditya!! Now shockers SHOCK – It was Aditya who killed Riya, being drunk and frustrated over his infidelity and his wife Neha (Biwi no.1) was aware of it but forgives him!! Also when the killer is revealed Kelly( the supercop) gets all sentimental and emotional and destroys the evidence!! I know what you all are thinking - If that’s the end, the end is in Pits. The story is inane without giving justice to any of the characters. Although Manoj Bajpai is a good actor but he does not look like a person where the women in his life will go to extremes to get the man they desire. Manoj has neither the personality nor the looks. In the end I would say if only you have to go and watch movie go for Sister Duo. They are brilliant. Shilpa Shetty looks ravishing and plays her part deftly. Shamita Shetty is doing great with every film. Maybe their striptease act might attract viewers. Credit: This review was submitted by Ankit Jain of Footprints.in.
