A very touching emotional tale between a father and a son, Mahesh Manjrekar this time has proved once again that relationships is his forte.

Set in a simple setting in Goa, the story revolves around a government employee Ravi Naik (Suneil Shetty) who seemingly drives his little son Rohan (Rahul) away from his heart by being a merciless taskmaster whose only concern seems a race that this boy has to win at all costs.

The child tries his level best to measure up to his father's expectations and fails everytime. Shivaji Satam plays Ravi Naik's friend whose son is also a participant in the same inter-school meet that Rohan is to participate in.

A tired Rohan finds solace in a neighbouring widow Antara (Neha) who is so pretty that you wonder why all the eligibles in Goa have not proposed to her yet. She lives with her mother-in-law Maya (Kiron Kher) who has made Antara her daughter after the death of her son Amit.

Well, Rohan the rebel is Antara's best pal and she is in her heart angry with Ravi for being such a taskmaster. All the same, Antara secretly loves him. But 11-year-old Rohan has made it clear to her that is she ever likes his Hitler dad as he is sensing, that is the end of their friendship.

Ten days before the meet, the other children push Rohan to going for an outing. The boy meets with an accident on the way back and has 17 stitches in this leg. The chances of him participating in the Meet are nil now.

In the meantime, Antara's father feels that Antara should give remarriage a try and they have zeroed in upon a groom in US that they want her to check out once. An outing with Antara on New Year's Eve convinces Ravi of their love for each other. But when Antara comes to tell him of the news, Ravi expresses his opinion that she should give it a try.

Antara tearfully concedes. The little fellow Rohan feels that father is letting Antara go as he is not running father's dream race. And he does, stitches and all. And though he comes a close second, he wins in the race of life. And ultimately all that is well, ends well.

We see some superlative performances from Suneil Shetty and Kiron Kher in the film. Neha is simply ravishing and emotes very well. In many sequences, her eyes do the talking. Sanjay Narvekar is simply amazing. After Yeh Tera Ghar, he has once again come out tops with his amazing sense of comedy. Even the song that he sings for Neha's servant girl is just too funny. Mahesh Manjrekar has made effective use of him in a mime sequence in a laundry.

Mahesh Manjrekar as Michael is worth checking out, but more than anything, one is amazed by his ability to pick up a simple subject and make a plot out of it and execute it so beautifully.

All in all, a must see with your kids. Don't miss this one. Even if you gotta race against work schedules to get to the theatres.
