HUM TUM (2004)

Starring: Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Rishi Kapoor and Kiron Kher
Director: Kunal Kohli
Producer: Yash Raj Films
Music: Jatin Lalit

PREDICTED RATING: 6/10

Yash Raj Films return with their latest romantic comedy Hum Tum, featuring the likes of Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Rishi Kapoor and Kiron Kher. Kunal Kohli (who made an average debut with his last movie Mujhse Dosti Karoge) directs the film. Luckily, coming from the Yash Raj stable, Tum Hum has already generated a certain level of hype. It’s being promoted as a fun-filled family entertainer and shows some potential at the box office.

The story is about Karan Kapoor (Saif Ali Khan), who works as a cartoonist for a leading Indian newspaper. During a trip to Amsterdam, he meets the beautiful Rhea (Rani Mukherjee). Although there’s hints of friendship between them, constant arguments result in tension. Eventually they leave Amsterdam and head their separate ways. However over the years, fate keeps bringing them back together, although their stubbornness keeps pulling them apart. However if destiny places them together…how can they escape their fate?

The soundtrack to Hum Tum, composed by Jatin Lalit, has been performing well in the music charts. Will the film receive similar success at the box office? Hum Tum releases towards the end of May 2004.

SCHEDULED RELEASE DATE: MAY 2004
