Bollywood’s controversial superstar Salman Khan enjoyed more career success last year thanks to blockbusters Tere Naam and Baghban. He’s hoping the prosperous streak continues with the forthcoming action flick Garv – Pride and Honour. This time around he’s paired opposite Shilpa Shetty, whilst his real life brother Arbaaz Khan joins him once again on the big screen.
‘Garv – Pride and Honour’ follows the lives of Mumbai Police Officers. The big city hosts a special task force, which includes Samar Singh (Amrish Puri), Arjun Ranawat (Salman Khan) and Hyder Ali (Arbaaz Khan). The team is responsible for fighting against the underworld and often takes extreme measures during their missions. However the underworld seek revenge for the actions of the task force. Therefore they target the mother (Farida Jalal) and sister (Akanksha) of Arjun Ranawat. Naturally this doesn’t have a good effect on the police officers, who handle the matter in their unique and unpredictable style.
Garv, which marks the directorial debut of Puneet Issar, is scheduled to release towards the end of June 2004.
