Director: Prawal Raman PREDICTED RATING: 6.5/10 Ram Gopal Verma dons his producer's cap once again for Bollywood's horror flick Darna Mana Hai. This time around Prawal Raman has been hired as director for the spooky movie, which is his maiden venture and stars a number of well known Indian celebrities. Darna Mana Hai follows a string of recent releases that have fitted neatly into the horror genre including the blockbuster Raaz and Ram Gopal Verma's very own Bhoot. This one has lots of thrills with one or two hilarious moments too. As an added benefit the story and the way it's been handled is quite different from its predecessors. The story follows a group of youngsters who somehow manage to get stranded in the woods. To make matters worse for them, it's a chilly and dark night that leads to a rather unsettling atmosphere. Whilst waiting for the sun to rise in the morning, the kids think of ways to kill time. Someone decides to make the most of the ambiance and suggests each person tell a scary tale each to entertain the others. The audience is then taken into a journey of story telling covering areas such as the supernatural and unexplainable, which aims to send shivers down your spine. There are six separate stories altogether, lasting around fifteen to twenty minutes each with different a storyline. However, whilst the stories may or may not be fictional, are the kids unknowingly involved in an unfolding terror story themselves? Darna Mana Hai lasts around two-and-a-half-hours and doesn't feature any songs, although the eerie background music by Salim and Suleiman adds to the scary moments. The cast list features some of Ram Gopal Verma's favourite performers as well as some new members of his camp. The likes of Nana Patekar, Vivek Oberoi, Saif Ali Khan, Aftab Shivdasani, Sohail Khan, Sanjay Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Antara Mali, Isha Koppikar and Sameera Reddy all make appearances.
