PREDICTED RATING: 4/10 A story of a beautiful women, Kiran (Diya Mirza) and two men. Caught in between the two men who mean the world to her and wants both to be part of her world. One man is the man who taught her what love is and the other is the man she was born loving. One is her lover, and the other is her father. Cupid strikes when Kiran sees her future in the mesmeric form of Suraj (Arjun Rampal). Destined to belong to each other it does note take long for Suraj to realise that he faces tough opposition from his loves father who will stop at nothing to keep this young man away from his daughter. The whole city worships Ranvir Choudhary (Vinod Khanna), but his daughter hero-worships him. But Ranvir Choudhary has big dreams for Kiran. Dreams which have no place for love or Suraj. Both men face-to-face. Yet never eye-to-eye. Motivated by their convictions, each determined to win. But Suraj will not let anything be a barrier in the path to his love. His belief is that "stronger the barriers, stronger the love". This is DEEWANAPAN! Deewanapan is the lead couples' second film, Diya Mirza's second film after the average Rehna Na Hain Terre Dil Mein, and Arjun Rampal's after the not-too-good Pyar, Ishq aur Mohobatt (where he was highly appreciated). Director Ashu Trikha is well-known in the ad film-making world. And Vashu Bagnani has a long list of films successes behind him such as Mujhe Kuch Kehnaa Hain, Diya Mirza's Rehna Hain Terre Dil Mein. Also supporting the cast is Internationally-acclaimed actor Om Puri, who plays the role of Suraj's father, a Government Officer who believes in the truth and surrenders to power. Deewanapan will be gracing our screens on 16th November 2001.
