Director: Ram Gopal Verma PREDICTED RATING: 6/10 During his amazing career in Bollywood, Ram Gopal Verma has established himself as one of the industry's most talented and creative directors. Although he hasn't been around for a while, the filmmaker makes a welcome return to the big screen with his most expensive movie yet - COMPANY. This latest effort has the director back on form with a gritty and realistic story based around India's underworld and terrorism. It centres on a movie director who reluctantly starts a relationship with the underworld - the film then shows that once you get involved it is very, very hard to leave that world behind. The storyline of this movie is bound to result in comparisons with one of Ram Gopal Verma's earlier efforts, Satya, although Company looks at the underground movement as a whole rather than individuals like it's predecessor did. Infact, Ram Gopal Verma is adamant that fans of Bollywood movies have never watched a movie like this before. Company stars Ajay Devgan and the much-hyped newcomer Vivek Oberoi, who is supposed to be the next big thing in Bollywood and is apparently the best newcomer that Ram Gopal Verma has ever worked with - surpassing the likes of Manoj Bajpai, Aftab Shivdasani and Fardeen Khan. He is paired opposite Antra Mali, who appeared in the movies Mast and Khiladi 420. However, this time around Manisha Koirala plays the actual female lead instead of RGV's normal favourite Urmila Matondkar. Those who have watched parts of the movie swear that all three have given excellent performances that could well win them some awards. With the usual types of big budget Bollywood love stories flopping badly so far this year, it looks like the audience are truly after something different at the moment. With Ram Gopal Verma's COMPANY, that's exactly what they are going to get… RELATED LINKS:
