Starring: Dev Anand, Hema Malini, Jackie Shroff and Govinda PREDICTED RATING: 2/10 Bollywood's evergreen actor-turned-director Dev Anand has been making films for longer than we care to remember, although none of his recent examples have done anything special at the box office. Many film critics (and even some of Dev's fans) begged him to retire after watching his last disaster 'Main Solah Baras Ki' at the cinema. The film was awful and the reaction unsurprising. But that has not stopped Dev saab from ignoring everyone's pleas and making yet another movie! This time around he is trying to play it safe, and has asked a whole load of his celebrity buddies to make appearances in the film - hoping that this clever tactic will lure people to cinema halls everywhere. There is no denying that the all-star cast is definitely praiseworthy. There is, of course, Dev Anand as one of the lead characters. But joining him are the likes of Govinda, Jackie Shroff, Rekha, Hema Malini, Pooja Batra, Mamta Kulkarni, Raj Babbar, Amrish Puri, Shammi Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Mukesh Khanna, Johnny Lever…the list goes one and on! The soundtrack has already been released, and is composed by the popular duo Jatin-Lalit. As the title suggests, the film deals with Bollywood and those who are in charge of censoring Indian films. To be more precise, it's about the struggle a filmmaker occurs when his movie gets stuck at the censors and risks never being released. Of course the film does eventually release and actually goes on to win heaps of prestigious awards! The film also launches some new talent - which Dev Anand loves to do - this time in the form of Henee Kaushik, Vinay Arora, Raja and Mohini Sharma. They have been featured in some of the teasers currently playing on TV, although we'll have to wait to see how well the audience accepts them. Interestingly, the film has had a few cuts made after the censor board didn't agree with some scenes - probably the ones featuring them! However Dev Anand has agreed to them because he just wants the film to hit the big screen. We wonder whether the audience feels the same way?
