AETBAAR (2003)

Starring : Amitabh Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and John Abraham
Director : Vikram Bhatt
Music : Rajesh Roshan
Producer : Tata Infomedia Limited

PREDICTED RATING: 6/10

Although Vikram Bhatt's last few films have bombed at the box office, the future is looking brighter thanks to Aetbaar. The forthcoming thriller reunites the director with Bipasha Basu, who gave him the massive hit Raaz some time back. The legendary Amitabh Bachchan and newcomer John Abraham also feature in the cast list for this Tata Infomedia Limited movie.

The story of Aetbaar focuses on the relationship between a father and his daughter. Doctor Malhotra (Amitabh Bachchan) cares very much for his daughter Riya (Bipasha Basu). In fact his feels verge on being possessive and over protective. Although Riya loves her father, she sometimes feels uncomfortable constantly being under his watchful eye. Her life enters a new chapter when she meets the young, wild and mischievous Aryan (John Abraham). Sparks fly between the two youngsters but Riya's father doesn't approve of the relationship. It seems Aryan is everything Doctor Malhotra didn't want for his daughter and he's determined to end the blossoming love between them.

Aetbaar's soundtrack, composed by Rajesh Roshan, has been fairly well received. Whether the audience will also welcome the movie with open arms will be decided when it hits the big screen at the end of January 2004.
