STORY:
The
story of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum is about a
happy family, headed by Yashovardhan Raichard
(Amitabh Bachchan) and his loyal wife Nandini
(Jaya Bachchan). The couple has raised their
two sons with tender love and care. The elder
boy, Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) shares a very special
relationship with his mother, whilst Rohan (Hrithik
Roshan) is more of a daddies boy.
The
family has a huge secret. Yashovardhan and Nandini
only have one real son (Rohan), whilst Rahul
was adopted at an early age - something he discovered
at the tender age of eight. However this subject
is rarely talked about within the family because
both brothers are treated equally.
Its
love at first sight when Rahul spots the beautiful
Anjali (Kajol), who is a sweet and simple girl
who returns the affection shown by Rahul. The
lovebirds marry although Yashovardhan doesn't
really approve of his new daughter-in-law. When
Anjali moves into the house the tension increases
and Rahul becomes conscious of the fact that
he isn't a true member of this family. His relationship
with his father, who he has always loved unconditionally,
is jeopardised and Rahul decides its time to
move out.
Nandini
and Rohan are particularly heartbroken when
they hear Rahul's decision. The pain becomes
too much and Rohan vows to reunite the family
and bring love back into their lives. His sidekick
in the mission is Anjali's fashion mad younger
sister, Pooja (Kareena Kapoor), who also happens
to feel kuch kuch for Rohan! But will they succeed
in the battle to move the family for a state
of ghum, to eternal khushi?
