It’s a soundtrack that’s sure to click. Shantanu Moitra, who had scored the music for Rajkumar Hirani’s “Lage Raho Munnabhai”, returns with “3 Idiots” and has churned out songs that are catchy, different and high on energy.

The much-awaited film, which stars Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi, has five original numbers and two remixes.

The soundtrack opens with “All Izz Well”, a fun campus song that is filled with whistles in the background. Crooned by Sonu Nigam, Swanand Kirkire and Shaan, the catchy song is already doing the rounds of music channels and is sure to be a chartbuster.

The song also has a remix version that has more beats.

Next is “Zoobi doobi”, the only song with a female voice. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal with ample support from Sonu Nigam, the track has a retro feel. It is a melodious number that grows on you.

“Zoobi doobi” too has a remix version with more contemporary sounds.

Then comes “Behti hawa sa tha woh” that has Shaan and Shantanu Moitra behind the mike. It has a long prelude and seems to be a situational track. The poignant, slow number has soft musical backing and is very appealing.

Up next is “Give me some sunshine” that includes dialogues by Sharman Joshi and vocals by Suraj Jagan. The song is an unplugged version and will appeal to the younger generation mainly because of the composition and the song’s rebel attitude.

The album offers a very nice song in “Jaane nahin denge” sung by Sonu Nigam. It gets an edge with a sudden increase in tempo during the course of the song. There is minimal orchestration and focus on vocals. The lyrics are raw and intense.

On the whole, the album is a good mix of slow and fast-paced songs. Shantanu Moitra has scored quality music that has melody and generates lots of interest.

Mid-Day

Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Om Puri, Kirron Kher, Dia Mirza

Producer: Karan Johar, Hiroo Johar

Director: Rensil D’Silva

Music Director: Salim- Sulaiman

Singers: Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghosal, Salim Merchant, Sukhwinder Singh, Kailash Kher, Marianne D’Cruz, Shruti Pathak, Vishal Dadlani

Label: Sony Music

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Shukran Allah- (Singers: Salim Merchant, Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal)

Rating: 7/10

The album beautifully unwinds with soft romantic track-Shukran Allah. Enchanting and charismatic composition by Salim-Sulaiman and well written by Prasoon Joshi, Shukran Allah is an absolute soothing and pleasing track sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. The song strikes the right chord in the first go.

Dua Hai- (Singers: Marianne D’Cruz, Kailash Kher, Sukhwinder Singh)

Rating: 7/10

High on energy and a blend of Sufi and rock music is what Dua Hai is all about. The song begins with English lyrics crooned by Marianne D’Cruz but later it’s Sukhwinder Singh along with Kailash Kher that steals the show. Astounding composition by Salim-Sulaiman and delightfully written byPrasoon Joshi.

Ali Maula- (Singer: Salim Merchant)

Rating: 5/10

Next to follow is Ali Maula sung by Salim merchant himself. A complete situational track along with extraordinary lyrics. The song carries typical Salim-Sulaiman composition feel.

The song also appears in a remix version apart from the original track.

Rasiya- (Singer: Shruti Pathak)

Rating: 6/10

Rasiya is a sensuous number beautifully sung by Shruti Pathak. The song is a semi-classical track and sees the blend of Indian and Western Music. Shrtuti Pathak’s aesthetic voice is the main highlight of the song.

Kurbaan Hua- (Singer- Vishal Dadlani)

Rating: 7/10

To end with is the title track Kurbaan Hua sung by Vishal Dadlani. Highly energetic song with rock feel to it. Vishal Dadlani’s voice rushes adrenaline all through the body and wins immediate appreciation. The song is extremely addictive and is undoubtedly the best track of the album.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 7/10

Music Review: Shaabash! You Can Do It (2009)

Cast: Hitesh Agrawal , Mansi Dovhal , Sudesh Berry, Nasir Khan, Vivek Shauq, Charu Sharma, Rajiv Verma, Adi Irani, Atul Kinagi , Vedita Pratap Singh , Praveen Singh Sisodia, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Rakesh Shrivastav, Aslam Khan

Music Director: Santok Singh

Singers: Soham Chakrabarthy, Rahul Seth, Krishna, Nakash Aziz, Kunal Ganjawala, Sunidhi Chauhan, Javed Ali, Lavanya

Lyrics: Kumaar, Rahul Seth, Dev Narayan

Label: Saregama HMV

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

You Can Do It Shaabash (Singer: Soham Chakravorty)

Rating: 3/10

The album unwinds with the title track You Can Do It Shaabash, sung by Soham. The song has absolutely nothing and totally disappoints its listeners. This is really a patchy way to begin with.

Ek Haqeeqat Tum Lagte Ho (Singers: Javed Ali, Lavanya)

Rating: 3/10

The rough patch continues with Ek Haqeeqat Tum Lagte Ho. The composition and the lyrics completely go in two opposite directions. Even singer like Javed Ali fails to create an impact with such a weak composition.

Me Myself (Singer Kunal Ganjawala)

Rating: 4/10

Up next is full of attitude track Me Myself. The song with a rock feel but nothing new, fails to make an impression. Lyrics are utter disappointment and only good thing about the song is Kunal Ganawala’s rendition.

Lagta Nahi Dill (Singer: Soham, Santokh Singh Dhaliwal)

Rating: 4/10

Next in line is Lagta Nahi Dil. The track with Sufi feel and similar to those heard way back in 90’s. The song sounds slightly better than the previous tracks and experiences some decent composition. But overall output fails as one feels as a heard before song.

Kiss Me One More Time (Singer: Sunidhi Chauhan)

Rating: 3/10

The album really gets boring as it moves and this is enhanced by Kiss Me One More Time. The song is absolute nonsense with some poor composition and silly lyrics. Listen at your own risk!

Main Hi Main Hoon (Singers: Rahul Seth, Krishna, Nakash Aziz)

Rating: 3/10

Finally to end with there is Main Hi Main Hoon crooned by Rahul Seth, Krishna, Nakash Aziz. The league of disasters continues with this song. As previous tracks there is absolutely nothing even in this tracks and doesn’t fail to let down the listeners.

The song also appears in the extended version.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 2/10

Producer: Ramesh Taurani

Music Director: Pritam

Lyrics: Irshad Kamil

Label: Tips Music Films

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Mai Tera Dhadkan Teri (Singers: K.K., Sunidhi Chauhan, Hard Kaur)

Rating: 6/10

The album rip opens with groovy number Mai Tera Dhadkan Teri. An energetic and a foot tapping track well sung by K.K., Sunidhi Chauhan and Hard Kaur. Highly pumped up and sets the mood in first go. An amazing way to start with.

The song also appears in a remix version.

Follow Me (Singer: Hard Kaur)

Rating: 6/10

Follow Me is a rebuild of the same song Mai Tera Dhadkan Teri, but with a difference. The song experiences the solo singing by Hard Kaur with some great rap and sets the listener in a seductive mood.

Tu Jaane Na (Singer: Atif Aslam)

Rating: 7/10

Tu Jaane Na sung by Atif Aslam is a sure shot winner. Amazing lyrics and great composition accompany totally with beautiful voice of the singer. Atif’s voice adds serenity to the song and is a sheer treat to the listeners.

Apart from the original version the song appears in four remixed versions. Firstly is the reprise version sung by Soham, Rana Mazumdar and Ashish Pandit. To follow is filmy version sung by Soham. Thirdly is a remix version by DJ Suketu. Finally comes the unplugged version rendered Kailash Kher, Paresh and Naresh and undoubtedly the best amongst all.

Oh By God (Singers: Mika Singh, Dunidhi Chauhan)

Rating: 5/10

Next in line is Oh By God sung by Mika Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan. The shenai used in the compositon forms the base of the song with a few twists. A fun loving song but disappoints on lyrics.

Tera Hone Laga Hoon (Singers: Atif Aslam, Alisha Chinoi)

Rating: 8/10

The magic of Atif Aslam continues with Tera Hone Laga Hoon. Amazing lyrics, sweet composition and a perfect love ballad, this one is really special. The song strikes the right chord with the first go. Beautifully sung by Atif Aslam and Alisha Chinoi, the song is absolutely flawless.

The song also appears in a remix version.

Prem Ki Naiyya (Singers: Neeraj Shridhar, Suzanne D’Mello)

Rating: 5/10

Next to follow is Prem Ki Naiyya sung by Neeraj Shridhar and Suzanne D’Mello. Though Pritam gets his favourite Neeraj Shridhar for the song, the track fails to create a huge impact. An average track in a mid of wonderfully composed album.

The song also appears in a remix version.

Aa Jao Meri Jaan (Singer: Javed Ali)

Rating: 6/10

To end with there is Aa Jao meri Jaan sung by Javed Ali. A melodious love song with pumping beats, this one is a breezy number. Well written track accompanied with modern music arrangements.

The song also comes in a remix version sung by Jojo.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 7/10

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Bareli Ke Bazaar Mein (Singer: Sonu Kakkar)

Rating: 4/10

The album unwinds with the item number Bareli Ke Bazaar Mein sung by Sonu Kakkar. A peppy number which has pumped up beats with western feel . However the lyrics are ordinary and there is nothing new about the track. The song fails to make any impact.

The song also appears in remix version.

Daata Sunn Le (Singer: Lata Mangeshkar)

Rating: 5/10

Daata Sunn Le is a devotional track sung by Lata Mangeshkar. The composition is ordinary with average lyrics. However Lata Mangeshkar’s voice add serenity and divinity to the song. The melodious singing by Lata Mangeshkar is the main highlight of the song.

The song appears in modern day version with some extra beats.

Milke Yun Laga (Singer: Sharib)

Rating: 5/10

Next in line is Milke yun laga a romantic track with sufi feel. The song is well sung by Sharib and is complete energetic number. Full of life and vigour, the song is undoubtedly the best track of the album. Overall a decent love ballad.

Sainya Ve (Singer: Toshi)

Rating: 5/10

To end with there is Sainya Ve, a hard metallic number with a Sufi touch. The song is well composed with modern music arrangements; however the lyrics fail to impress. Authentic singing by Toshi makes the song worth listening and makes impact on the listeners.

The song appears in remix version and rock version.

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Tum Mile (Singer: K.K.)

Rating: 6/10

The album extricates with passionate title song Tum Mile. Pritam’s serene composition and Neeraj Shridhar’s divine singing makes the song special and impose the listener for frequent hearing. The beauty of the song lies in it’s innocent feeling.

Apart from the original version the song also appears in ‘Love Reprise version’ by Javed Ali and ‘Rock version’ by Shafqat Amanat Ali. The two versions are a sure shot heart stealer and better than the original one.

Dil Ibaadat (Singer: K.K.)

Rating: 7/10

Dil Ibaadat is a highly passionate and ardent number. Great lyrics, incredible composition by Pritam and wonderfully sung by K.K., the song has them all. An absolute flawless number and none other than K.K. could have done justice and created the essence with the song.
The song also appears in the rock version.

Tu He Haqeeqat (Singer: Javed Ali)

Rating: 6/10

Next in line is Tu He Haqeeqat, yet another love song. The song is on the similar lines of the previous track Dil Ibaadat with a different voice. Simple and catchy composition by Pritam and nicely sung by Javed Ali.

Iss Jahaan Mein (Singer: Mohit Chauhan)

Rating: 6/10

Iss Jahaan Mein is a fast and a lively number. Mohit Chauhan known for slow and soft romantic tracks, for the first time will be heard in a completely different genre of song. A fun number with a punk feel and great energy.

O Meri Jaan (Singer: K.K.)

Rating: 6/10

O Meri Jaan is a touching song with a sad feel. Highly expressive and emotional number accompanied by decent lyrics, composition and singing.

Soul Of Tum Mile – Instrumental

Rating: 5/10

Soul Of Tum Mile is an instrumental track. The track is completely situational and experiences some fine melody by Pritam.

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Khwahishein (Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan, Dabbo Malik, Amal Malik)

Rating: 5/10

The album begins with Khwahishein, a song with hard techno feel. The song experiences average lyrics, immature vocals by Daboo Malik and the main drawback being pumped up beats, forcefully incurred in the song. The only thing positive about the track is Sunidhi Chauhan’s rendition.

Sheesha (Singers: Neeraj Shridhar, Sunidhi Chauhan)

Rating: 5/10

Sheesha is a pacy and a foot-tapping number with an Arabic feel to it. Lyrics are simple and ordinary; while the composition is cool and catchy. Well sung track by Sunidhi Chauhan and Neeraj Shridhar.

Jaane Yeh Kaisi (Singer: Amal Malik)

Rating: 3/10

Next in line is Jaane Yeh Kaisi sung by Amal Malik. Amal Malik’s amateur vocals play the spoilsport for the song, moreover the composition is ordinary. A sheer disappointment for the listeners.

Har Mausam (Singers: Akriti Kakar, Soham)

Rating: 6/10

Har Mausam, sung by Akriti Kakar and Soham is probably the best song of the album. Decent lyrics and well composed with some western interludes.

Dosti..Forever (Singers: Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan)

Rating: 5/10

Next to follow is Dosti..Forever, a frisky number well sung by Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan. Well composed with fine music arrangements, however the lyrics are usual.

Macha Shor (Singers: Amal Malik, Shweta)

Rating: 5/10

Macha Shor is a fast number and experiences Amal Malik in a much better voice than the previous track. A groovy number with lively beats and Indo-Western lyrics makes the song worth hearing.

Instrumentals

Rating: 4/10

The album comes along with the instrumentals like Marianne’s Sorrow, Dosti Theme, Retro Party and 3 Nights 4 Days Theme, not adding much grace to the album.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 4/10

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Genie Rap (Singers: Amitabh Bachchan, Anushka Manchanda)

Rating: 5/10

The album unwinds with Genie Rap sung by Amitabh Bachchan and Anushksa Manchanda. The music of the song is refreshing and a few lines are catchy, but overall the lyrics are average and fail to make an immense impact on the listeners. An average track to begin with.

The song also appears in the remix version with extra beats and raised tempo.

Tak Dhina Din (Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan)

Rating: 7/10

Tak Dhina Din is an energetic number. Sung by Shaan and Shankar Mahadevan, the track is full of life and vigour. Amazing music and decent lyrics add zeal to the song. Completely charged and pumped up pacy number.

O Re Saawariya (Singers: Sudesh Bhosle, Shaan, Amitabh Bachchan, Shreya Ghoshal)

Rating: 6/10

Next in line is O Re Saawariya, a blend of classical and modernize music. The song starts of slowly with soft music and gradually picks up the pace as it proceeds. Beautifully sung by Sudesh Bhosle, Shaan, Amitabh Bachchan, Shreya Ghoshal, it’s a sure shot hit.

The song comes in a remix version apart from the original track. A true foot tapping number by DJ Sukehtu.

You May Be (Singers: Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Ravjiani)

Rating: 6/10

You May Be is a soft, love ballad number sung by the duo Vishal-Shekhar. A blend of Indo-Western lyrics, the song is a soothing number. An ideal song for the lovers.

Bachke O Bachke (Singers: Shaan, Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan)

Rating: 6/10

Next to follow is Bachke O Bachke, a foot tapping number and high on energy. The song experiences a slow starts but soon gathers pacy beats and tempo as it proceeds. The song appears to be an average number on its first hearing but on repetitive listening it starts building interest.

Giri Giri (Singer: Sanjay Dutt)

Rating: 5/10

To end with is Giri Giri, a totally different track sung by Sanjay Dutt. Sanjay Dutt’s casual singing fails to add quality to the song and leaves no impact. The music of the song is the main highlight of the track.

Rasiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 6/10

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Yeh Jism (Singers: Raaj, Anchal Datta Bhatia)

Rating: 5/10

The album unwinds with a slow lounge number-Yeh Jism. The song starts off slowly but soon picks up the pace as it proceeds. Techno and rock sound in the background along with refined beats makes the song worth listening. A genteel way to begin with.

The song comes in Club Mix version and is sure to hit the dance floors.

Khatti Meethi (Singer: Manasi Scott)

Rating: 4/10

Next in line is Khatti Meethi. Lyrics, singing and composition very ordinary and could have better. The track leaves without leaving any impression on its listeners.

Jab Andhera Hota Hai (Singers: Anchal Datta Bhatia, Saptak Bhattacharjee, Shweta Vijay)

Rating: 4/10

Jab Andhera Hota Hai is a slow number. The song disappoints you due to it’s out of track composition. The lyrics are regular and the music do not fit the number at all. A thorough disappointment for the listeners.

The track also appears in a remix version.

Kone Kone Mein (Singer: Vasundra Das)

Rating: 6/10

Next up is Kone Kone Mein. Beautifully sung by Vasundra das and well written lyrics makes the song special. Superb composition by Bappa Lahiri. An out an out winner and the best song of the album.

The song also appears in remix version.

Raftaar (Singers: Raaj, Anchal Datta Bhatia)

Rating: 6/10

Raftaar as the name goes is a fast number. A hard techno track, well composed and well written song. Full of energy and vigour the song is addictive.

Nothing Else Will Do (Instrumental)

Rating: 4/10

Nothing Else Will Do is an instrumental and there is nothing new about the composition.

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Barso Yaar (Singers: Vishal Dadlani, Roop Kumar Rathod)

Rating: 7/10

The album kick starts with extreme rock number- Barso Yaaro. Completely energetic, full of fervour and zeal, the song rushes adrenaline all through the body in the first hear. Well composed by the trio, great lyrics by Prasoon Joshi and amazingly sung by Vishal and Roop Kumar Rathod.

Mann Ko Ati Bhavey (Singer: Shankar Mahadevan)

Rating: 7/10

Next in line is Mann Ko Ati Bhavey. An Indo-Western song, with modern musical arrangements and simple yet impressive lyrics by Prasoon Joshi. Shankar Mahadevan does a great job with some beautiful singing.

The song also appears in a remix version with added beats.

Tapkey Masti (Singer: Feroz Khan)

Rating: 5/10

With a remarkable start one starts expecting more from the album, however Tapkey Masti ends up in a big disappointment. The lyrics are below average and are the weakest point of the song. Singing could have been better.

The song also appears in a remix version.

Khanabadosh (Singer: Mohan)

Rating: 6/10

Khanabadosh is a true foot-thumping number. Full of life and bouncy track. However the song doesn’t become favourite on instant hearing due to it’s complex lyrics, nevertheless on repeated hearing it starts making an hard impact and gratifying you.

The song comes in remix version apart from the original track.

Khwab Jo (Singers: Roop Kumar Rathod, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan)

Rating: 6/10

A blend of classical and rock music Khwab Jo is a supple song. Crooned by Shankar Mahadevan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, their vocals add divinity and serenity to the song. Well written by Prasoon Joshi, the song directly touches your heart.

Yaari Bina (Singer: Roop Kumar Rathod)

Rating: 6/10

Yaari Bina is a soft number with a Sufi-feel to it. The song sees beautiful and one of the well sung tracks by Roop Kumar Rathod . Great music and instantly makes an impression on its listener.

Jashn Jeet Ka (Singer: Abhijit Ghoshal)

Rating: 6/10

Next to follow is Jashn Jeet Ka. The main catch of the song is it’s composition which is a blend of rock, techno and Arabic effect. Full of life and jittery, the song is extremely addictive.

Shola Shola (Singer: Zubeen Garg)

Rating: 4/10

The album ends with Shola Shola, sung by Zubeen Garg. The song fails to make any impact due to same old style of singing. Nothing new about the song and one would surely want to neglect this one.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 6/10

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Chiggy Wiggy (Singers: Sonu Nigam, Kylie Minogue)

Rating: 7/10

The album burst out with Chiggy Wiggy, a song with loads of oomph and vivacity. The song experiences seductive singing by Hollywood hottie Kylie Minogue and Sonu Nigam’s eclectic singing. The Bhangra Beats go perfectly with the song and one is assured to get addicted to the song at the first go.

Aaj Dil (Singers: Sukhwinder Singh, Shreya Ghoshal)

Rating: 7/10

Aaj Dil is a passionate and a love song. A true masterpiece by A.R. Rahman with some great musical arrangements, especially the piano that is set in the background. Exceptional lyrics by Mayur Puri and outstanding singing by Sukhwinder Singh and Shreya Ghoshal.

Fiqrana (Singers: Vijay Prakash, Shreya Ghoshal)

Rating: 8/10

The best of A.R. Rahman comes out with this track- Fiqrana. Remarkable composition by Rahman, great lyrics and sparkling singing by Vijay Prakash makes the song a winner. Beware the song is really infatuating.

Bhoola Tujhe- (Singer: Rashid Ali)

Rating: 5/10

In mid of classic soothing and catchy numbers, comes Bhoola Tujhe, a slow and sad song. The song is really situational and not for the masses. The song fails to make an impression.

Blue Theme (Singers: Blaaze, Neha Kakkar, Raqeeb Aalam, Sonu Kakkar, Jaspreet Singh, Dilshad)

Rating: 7/10

A song with a lot of attitude and spunk Blue Theme is a chic track. The song experiences lot of rap and metal embed with the track. Amazing lyrics, energetic singing and grand music makes the song rush adrenaline through your body. This one is a treat for Rahman fans and proves him to be the best composer in the country.

Rehnuma (Singers: Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal)

Rating: 6/10

Rehnuma is a temperate and squashy number. The song is special for its composition and refined singing by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. The song requires a few hearing to get the true feel as well as mood of the song.

Yaar Mila Tha (Singers: Udit Narayan, Madhushree)

Rating: 6/10

Yaar Mila tha is a fun song. Well written by Abbas Tyrewala and potential singing by Udit Narayan along with Madhushree carries away the song. A completely different song from Rahman’s compilation which adds to the versatility of the album.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 7/10

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Mann Ka Radio (Singer: Himesh Reshammiya)

Rating: 6/10

The album unfastens with Mann Ka Radio, a calm track. Himesh’s unique rendition and classic composition are the main grip of the song. Pleasing song with soft touch to it, decent song to start with.

The song also appears in a remix version with some extra beats and sure to hit the dance floors.

Zindagi Jaise Ek Radio (Singer: Himesh Reshammiya)

Rating: 5/10

Next in line is a foot thumping number Zindagi Jaise Ek Radio. Lyrics are mundane, singing ordinary as Himesh croons full throated. The only highlight of the track is its Punjabi beats that set the mood in.

Zindagi also comes in remix version, apart from the original number.

Jaaneman (Singers: Himesh Reshammiya, Shreya Ghoshal)

Rating: 7/10

Jaaneman is a soft, soothing and one of the finest romantic numbers in the recent past. Passionate lyrics by Subrat Sinha and tender singing by Shreya Ghoshal and Himesh Reshammiya emphasize the song. The track strike’s the soft corner of the heart and ends on a high note.

Piya Jaise Ladoo Motichur Wale (Singers: Himesh Reshammiya, Rekha Bharadwaj)

Rating: 7/10

Piya Jaise is a semi classical track with a difference. A soft romantic number with some elegant singing by Rekha Bharadwaj and diverse composition by Himesh Reshammiya. An out an out winner and probably the best track of the album.

The remix version of the song will soon rule the chart’s and set the dance floors on fire.

Koi Na Koi Chahe (Singers: Himesh Reshammiya, Shreya Ghoshal)

Rating: 6/10

Koi Na Koi Chahe is yet another amorous track. Affectionate lyrics by Subrat Sinha, the song is full of emotions.

Teri Meri Dosti Ka Asmaan (Singers: Himesh Reshammiya, Shreya Ghoshal)

Rating: 6/10

Teri Meri Dosti is a light-hearted track. Decent music by Himesh Reshammiya and cheerful lyrics by Subrat Sinha wins the heart.

Damadji Angana Hai Padhare (Singers: Kailash Kher, Himesh Reshammiya)

Rating: 6/10

Kailash Kher does a cameo with the track Damadji Angana Hai Padhare. The song has folk touch to it and Kailash Kher gives the number a flawless start. With this track one can judge Himesh’s capability and versatility of composing music from pop-rock to classical-folk.

Shaam Ho Chali Hai (Singers: Himesh Reshammiya, Shreya Ghoshal)

Rating: 6/10

Next in line is slow, supple track Shaam Ho Chali Hai. A song with a sad feel really touches the heart. Highly appreciative quality singing by Himesh Reshammiya and Shreya Ghoshal, and impressive lyrics by Subrat Sinha.

Rafa Dafa Kiya Nahi Nahin Jaaye (Singer: Himesh Reshammiya)

Rating: 5/10

The album concludes with slow, encouraging number Rafa Dafa Kiya Nahi Nahin Jaaye. Heartening lyrics by Subrat Sinha, light singing by Himesh Reshammiya and a pleasing track to end with.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 6/10

Maula Maula (Singer: Master Saleem)

Rating: 4/10

The album opens with Maula Maula, a song with a sufi touch to it. There is nothing new about the song and fails to make any impression. Raees Jamal Khan music is ordinary and Master Saleem fails to deliver. The song also comes in a remix version.

Pyar Ki Parsayee (Singers: Hariharan and Sadhna Sargam)

Rating: 4/10

Next in line is a slow track Pyar Ki Parsayee. The song is really soothing and Sadhna Sargam does a great job. On the other hand the composition and the lyrics are sleazy that leaves you disappointed.

Har Ek Lamha (Singers: Javed Ali, Sunidhi Chauhan)

Rating: 5/10

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Dil Kare (Singers: Suraj Jagan, Roopam Islam)

Rating: 8/10

The album explodes with this mind boggling song Dil Kare. Superb composition, immense rock-techno effect given to the track , splendid lyrics and powerful singing. Surely a treat to all genre of music lovers.

Mai Jitni Martaba (Singers: K.K, Yashita)

Rating: 7/10

The prodigy continues with Mai Jitni Martaba-a romantic song with a difference. A splendid beginning with guitar masterpiece, lyrics completely youthful and sensuous singing by Yashita.

All the Best (Singers: Rana, Soham, Alisha Chinoy)

Rating: 7/10

Carefree and encouraging lyrics are the main punch of the song. As the previous songs, guitar has been the base and goes perfectly with the track. And lastly not to forget the stunning vocals rendered by Alisha Chinoy.

Kyon (Singer: Clinton Cerejo)

Rating: 5/10

In the mid of the foot tapping numbers comes Kyon a slow track and you would surely want to neglect this one. With ordinary composition and mundane lyrics, this song leaves with disappointment.

You Are My Love (Singers: Neeraj Shridhar, Kunal Ganjawala, Alisha Chinoy, Rajesh, Megha)

Rating: 7/10

Pritam’s composition and it ought to have Neeraj Shridhar. The magic of the superlative duo works again and sets you on a roll. Lyrics are just above average, it’s the energetic singing that makes you thump your feet.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 7/10

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Zulfaen khol khal ke (Singers: Sonu Nigaam, Anuradha Sharma)

Rating: 4/10

The album unwinds with this pacy number ‘Zulfaen Khol’. The music of the song is completely off-beat and doesn’t go along with the song. The lyrics are sleazy and poor. Overall a disappointing track to begin with.

Don’t Ever Leave Me (Singers: Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal)

Rating: 4/10

‘Don’t Ever Leave Me’ is again a fast number. The music is below par and reminds you of the duo’s previous compositions. The music lacks the passion and zeal to cope with the lyrics and the singers of the song.

Mere Naal (Singers: KK, Jigar Saraiya, Shreya Ghoshal and Nitika Kanwar)

Rating: 5/10

Punjabi feel and some great singing by K.K. and Shreya Ghoshal make this song the special. Lyrics are above average but the composition is really appreciating and something different from typical Nadeem-Shravan jingle.

Bebo (Singers: Neeraj Shridhar, Anushka Manchanda)

Rating: 6/10

An absolute winner and the best track of the album. Full of attitude, energy, vigour and vocals of Neeraj Shridhar makes the song addicted. A sure hit and set to rock the dance floors.

Beautiful Women (Singers: Neeraj Shridhar, Sowmya Rao)

Rating: 4/10

The song gives the feel of previous track ‘Bebo’. Nothing new about the song and Shridhar this time fails to create magic with this one. Some odd lyrics by Sameer and outdated music by the duo.

Do Knot Disturb (Singers: T.K. Karthik, Anshuka Manchanda)

Rating: 4/10

The music duo tries to do something different and new with this one to give a more youthful feel but fails. Really disappointing track with just beats forcefully intervened in the song.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 5/10

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Advocate De Satan (Singer: Kunal Gajawala)

Rating: 3/10

The album begins with ‘Advocate De Satan’, which recites the story of a lawyer played by Arjun Rampal. Stringently situational and not for the masses.

Zindagi (Singers: Kunal Ganjawala, Shreya Ghoshal)

Rating: 4/10

‘Zindagi’ is not lively at all. There is nothing great about the song as it lacks good lyrics. The only good thing about the song is its rendition by Shreya Ghosahl and Kunal Ganjawala.

Jashn Jashn (Singer: Akriti Kakkar)

Rating: 4/10

Next in line is a bit old-fashioned seductive number ‘Jashn Jashn’. Akriti Kakkar tries to make the song worth hearing a bit, but the song fails to do much due to its meager lyrics and ordinary music.

Josh Josh (Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan, Kunal Ganjawala)

Rating: 4/10

The start of the song gives its listener a few hopes about the song being audible with some decent music. But as the song passes by, expectations fail and takes you back to the state of disappointment as in the previous tracks.

Yaadein (Singer: K.K.)

Rating: 5/10

Finally the savior and undoubtedly the best song of the album- ‘Yaadein’. The song is sung by none other than K.K. who is the reason behind the success of the song and making this one worth listening. Except this song, the album miserably fails to make any impression.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 4/10

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Kubul (Singers: Parthiv Gohil, Sharmista Chateerjee and Shell Hada)

Rating: 5/10

The album unwraps with the serene number Kubul. A typical romantic composition by Monty Sharma gives a decent start to the soundtrack.

Vaada Raha (Singer: Toshi Sharib)

Rating: 6/10

Next in line follows yet another love song and the title track of the album Vaada Raha. Beautifully sung and composed by Toshi Sharib, the song is one of the finest romantic numbers in the recent past.

The song also appears in a ‘remix version’ and a ‘theme version’.

Rab Na Kare (Singer: Babbu Maan)

Rating: 4/10

Rab Na Kare is a sad song. The song sees a blend of Sufi and Western feel. Nothing appealing about the track on the whole.

The song also comes with a ‘slow version’.

Aaj Aasmaan- (Singers: Shaan, Shweta Pandit)

Rating: 4/10

Aaj Aasman is a song about moving on in life with an optimistic note. However it’s mundane lyrics and conventional composition are the main drawbacks of the song.

Achal Hai Mere Hausle (Singer: Kunal Ganjawala)

Rating: 3/10

Achal Hai Mere Hausle is a situational track. A highly disappointing track and one would really want to neglect this number. There is nothing in this song that would make you hear again.

Flying High and Lost in Love – Instrumental (Singer: Sanjoy Chowdhury)

Rating: 5/10

‘Flying High’ and ‘Lost in Love’ are theme tracks and are mainly instrumental

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 5/10

Director: Ashutosh Gowariker

Lyrics: Javed Akhtar

Singers: Sohail Sen,Tarannum Malik,Shaan, Bhavya Pandit, Alka Yagnik, Ashutosh Gowariker, Pamela Jain, Marianne D’Cruz, Alesha Gowariker, Udit Narayan, Madhushree ,Harman Baweja

Label: Sony Music

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Pal Pal Dil Jisko Dhoonde (Singer: Sohail Sen)

Rating: 7/10

Singer-composer Sohail Sen does a fantastic job giving a real jazz feel to the song that leaves the heart touched with his soft voice and effortless music. A treat for the jazz music lovers.

Jao Na (Singer: Sohail Sen, Tarannum Malik)

Rating: 7/10

The strumming guitar, simple lyrics by Javed Akhtar and Sohail’s pleasant voice makes the song one of the best tracks of the album. One would easily get hooked to the track with the kind of magnetism that attracts you for multiple hearings.

Aaja Lehraate (Singers: Shaan, Bhavya Pandit)

Rating: 7/10

Full of attitude, energy and great singing by Shaan and Bhavya Pandit makes it catchy and fast growing among the youth. A true foot-tapping number and assured hit in the pubs.

Bikhri Bikhri (Singers: Sohail Sen, Marianne D’Cruz)

Rating: 6/10

Another romantic track of the album with a slight classical touch. Javed Akhtar’s lyrics stand out for their poetic, simple and soulful appeal to the track.

Mannunga Mannunga (Singers: Ashutosh Gowariker, Pamela Jain)

Rating:5/10

The speciality of the song being that it sees a contrast of vocals- Ashutosh with a powerful voice on one hand and Pamela with a soft sweet voice on the other.

Sau Janam (Singers: Udit Narayan, Madhushree, Sohail Sen )

Rating: 7/10

In the era of newcomers, one of the most experienced singers of Bollywood is back. A soft romantic number Sau Janam reminds of early 90s romantic songs with a supple rock touch to it. Madhushree and Sohail Sen along with Udit Narayan make this track a real hit and memorable one.

Aa Le Chal (Singers: Alesha Gowariker, Harman Baweja)

Rating: 6/10

The song witnesses another debut, yet a highly potential singer Alesha Gowariker, sister of Ashutosh Gowariker. A confident and a polished singer does complete justice to her debut track. The song reminds us of the songs composed in 60’s and 70’s with a modern touch.

Pyaari Pyaari (Singers: Alka Yagnik, Sohail Sen)

Rating: 5/10

After Udit Narayan, its time for Alka Yagnik to strike the chords. And the song doesn’t disappoint at all. Yet another romantic number by Sohail, which makes an impression. The song sets the right mood in place. However the music of the song somewhere reminds you of the earlier song ‘Bikhri Bikhri’.

Su Chhe (Singers: Sohail Sen, Bela Shinde)

Rating: 6/10

A film about Gujarati boy, without a Gujarati song sounds incomplete and hence the track Su Chhe. A full of fun and foot-tapping number with a few Gujarati words here and there. Treat for Gujju people this Navratri.

Salone Kya (Singers: Sohail Sen, Tarannum Malik)

Rating: 7/10

Beware: The stage will set on fire with this song. A true masterpiece and an ultimate seductive number by Sohail Sen. Tarannum’s voice completely dominates the song over Sohail’s. The song has passion, seduction, infatuation and finally Javedsaab’s influential lyrics, which would make the listener fanatic.

Koi Jaane Na (Singers: Rajab Ali Bharti, Bela Shinde)

Rating: 6/10

This one sung by Rajab Ali Bharti is the one which directly reaches your heart. Koi Jaane Na is a sad song with some heart-rending lyrics by Javed Akhtar.

Chehre Jo Dekhe Hain (Singer: Sohail Sen)

Rating: 6/10

This one is the climax song as it lays the foundation of the film. From rock to techno the song has every kind of instrument made use of.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 7/10

Hanumant Bhansali

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Maahiya (Singers: Clinton Cereio, Shilpa Rao)

Rating: 6/10

The album kicks off with this astounding track ‘Maahiya’. The rock feel of the song gushes adrenaline through the body in the first go. Full of liveliness, vigour, freshness and amazing lyrics by Hitesh Kewalya makes this one a must hear.

Daay Laga (Singer: Sona Mohapatra)

Rating: 5/10

Composed by Ram Sampath, ‘Daay Laga’ is a decent song with some hip-hop style music. On the downslide, the lyrics are blatant and refuse to make you praise the track.

Hippie Tu Jhoom (Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan, Kirti Sagathia)

Rating: 6/10

Full of fun and humour the song sets you crazy. Carefree lyrics by Hitesh Kewayla, it’s unique music and vivacious singing by Sunidhi Chauhan, Kirti Sagathia would make the listeners addicted.

Love Flashback (Singers: Bappi Lahiri)

Rating: 4/10

‘Love flashback’ reminds you of the older days and takes you to 80’s and 90’s. Bappi Lahiri vocals exemplify the retro feel. Nothing special about the lyrics and composition, it’s music may just makes one feel the song being a remix version of some oldies.

More Piya (Singers: Kay Kay Menon and Deepikkaa Bhattacharya)

Rating: 6/10

Kudos for ‘More Piya’. The song is available in two versions in the album- one being ‘Tapori’ and another being the ‘Bar . Some great lyrics by Shadab Akhtar and Manish Hariprasad probably makes it the best track of the album.

Radiosargam Soundtrack Rating: 5/10

Music Review: Wake Up Sid

Producer: Karan Johar
Director: Ayan Mukherji
Cast: Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma
Music: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy
Lyrics: Javed Akhtar
Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Kavita Seth, Amitabh Bhattacharya, Clinton Cerejo and Uday Benegal

Karan Johar is ready again to be in news for the upcoming flick, ‘Wake Up Sid’. Earlier he was for another upcoming, ‘My Name is Khan’. Both his produced flicks have made him the center of attraction. ‘My Name is Khan’ stars Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee whereas ‘Wake Up Sid’ features Ranbir Kapoor opposite Konkona Sen Sharma. The music of ‘Wake Up Sid’ is out now that has been composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, as normally Johar’s films carry their music. The lyrics have been penned by Javed Akhtar. Lets check whether this album is potentially great to hit the hearts as usually Johar’s films’ music do well with the audiences.

1): Aaj Kal Zindagi (Shankar Mahadevan)

Shankar Mahadevan opens the soundtrack with his well delivered style of crooning. This track is soft yet appealing. The lyrics hold values. Music is spongy. You love to stay with it.

Rating: 7.5/10

2): Iktara (Amitabh Bhattacharya and Kavita Seth)

Kavita and Amitabh render the lines with superb brilliance. They directly inject the pleasing pleasures in your hearts. The fusion of rustic and western influences attracts the ears. The heavy dose of guitar strikes a chord. The lyrics personify the mood of the number that has been mellifluously arranged. The song appears to be the best of the lot.

Rating: 8.5/10

3): Kya Karoon (Clinton Cerejo)

After listening squashy tracks, now comes a below average number sung by Clinton Cerejo. He does not raise the spirits. Lyrics are average and music seems mundane. A big disappomitment.

Rating: 1/10

4): Life is Crazy (Uday Benegal and Shankar Mahadevan)

Uday Benegal and Shankar Mahadevan team up to warble the song, ‘Life is Crazy’. Both deliver the goods with aplomb. The sounds are contemporary, which grows on you. The lyrics are well penned. Music is a treat to listen to. The track would be a hit amongst the youngsters.

Rating: 8/10

5): Wake Up Sid (Shankar Mahadevan)

The title track winds up the soundtrack. Mahadevan trills the song with a style that lets you hum it along with him. It’s a sweet cum entertaining number. It travels from being a fast paced to slow then back to the main musical sound. The lyrics are great. Music is a class in itself.

Rating: 8/10

6): Wake Up Sid – Remix

The remix is as colorful as the original is. Go for it.

Rating: 8/10

Conclusion:

Shanakr-Ehsaan-Loy, the trio has appeared with its signature style once again. They have composed the music, which is hummable and could be a hit among the young generation. The good sales from the stands will surely bring smiles for the makers, musicians and the team attached to the project.

Overall Rating: 8/10

‘Daddy Cool’ is an entertaining movie, which will hit the screens on August 28th. Starring Aftab Shivdasani, Javed Jaffrey, Ashish Chaudhary, Tulip Joshi, Sophie Chaudhary and Aarti Chhabria; the flick is directed by a Hyderabad based director K. Murli Mohan Rao. The music of the film has been composed by Raghav Sachar and Farhad-Sajid. For the lyrics’ job, Prashant Ingole, Aditya Dhar and Farhad-Sajid have been roped in to do the honors. Lets check out the album now.

1): Daddy Cool (Raghav Sachar and Paroma P. Dasgupta)

The title track opens the soundtrack. Sung by the musician (Raghav) himself, it also features the voice of Paroma P. Dasgupta. Both attract with the vocals. The lyrics are good and the composition glides on the ears.

Rating: 6/10

2): Daddy Cool – Remix

The remix is not up to the standards of the original. A big disappointment.

Rating: 1/10

3): Nash Nasha (Neha Bhaseen)

Next comes, ‘Nasha Nasha’. Rendered by Neha, the track is laced with Hinglish lyrics, which are not appealing at all. The music is poor. Only the singer is potentially great to listen to otherwise there is nothing to talk big about.

Rating: 2.5/10

4): Nasha Nasha – Remix

Remix of this number is a waste of time. So just avoid and press the forward button.

Rating: 1/10

5): Life Life (Farhad)

Concluding track is ‘Life Life’, which has a heard-before feel attached to it. It is a fast paced number that is sung by Farhad who does not appeal at all. The lyrics are pretty ordinary and so is the music.

Rating: 1/10

The album has two more numbers from the 2007 blockbuster comedy ‘Dhamaal’ – Dekho Dekho’ and ‘Miss India Marte Mujh Pe’. They have been added to fill the space.

Conclusion:

The album is a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. There is absolutely nothing to rave about. At the music stands, just stay away from this soundtrack. Caution: Don’t Buy It!

Overall Rating: 1.5/10

Salman Khan’s Wanted’s promos have finally out. The music of the movie has also been released. Salman Khan has been away from the films since quite some time now. As he is returning to the films, people are anxiously awaiting the release. The film has been in news since long, the people’s expectations have now turned to heights. As for the music, one expects to listen something enticing. Let’s see what the composers’ duo Sajid-Wajid has done on this album?

1): Love Me Love Me (Wajid)

Wajid of Sajid-Wajid due comes behind the mike to croon the first song of the album. He sings with aplomb and very well suits Salman’s personality. Jalees Sherwani writes the lyrics and attracts with the pen. Drumbeats attract the most amongst the instruments. The composition is catchy and hummable.

Rating: 8/10

2): Love Me Love Me (Mama Papa Mix)

The remix is equally enticing.

Rating: 7.5/10

3): Ishq Vishq (Kamal Khan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Suzzane)

Kamal Khan (a family friend of Salman Khan), who shot to heights when he sang ‘O O Jaane Jaana’ in Pyar Kya Tu Darna Kya many years back, sings ‘Ishq Vishq’ with Sunidhi Chauhan. He appeals you with the voice and Sunidhi sends chill through the body with her marvelous style. Suzzane gives backup vocals. The lyrics are well penned by Sameer. The tune is catchy and impressive.

Rating: 8/10

4): Ishq Vishq – Remix

The remix version glides well on you.

Rating: 7/10

5): Dil Leke (Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal)

Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal come up next to sing, ‘Dil Leke’. Both do well with the vocals. Arun Bhairav writes ordinary lyrics. The composition too is not a good work at all.

Rating: 2.5/10

6): Dil Leke – Remix

The remix is very badly arranged and spoils the mood.

Rating: 1/10

7): Le Le Mazaa Le (Saumaya Rao, Hrishikesh Kamerkar and Nikita Nigam)

Nothing novel and attractive in this number that is sung by the trio of Saumaya Rao, Hrishikesh Kamerkar and Nikita Nigam. All of them display average vocals. The Spanish base attached to the song is okay. The lyrics are mundane and so is the music.

Rating: 1/10

8): Jalwa (Wajid)

Jalwa is what reminds you of the compositions of 70s and 80s though some peppy elements are attached to the song. Wajid looks average with the vocals. Jalees Sherwani is just about okay on lyrics. Music is pretty average.

Rating: 2/10

9): Jalwa – On the House Remix

The remix version needs to be skipped, as it’s a waste of time.

Rating: 1/10

10): Tose Pyar Karte Hai (Wajid and Sunidhi Chauhan)

What follows next is Wajid and Sunidhi’s sung number, ‘Tose Pyar Katre Hai’. Both gel well with the flow of the song. The song is especially for UP and Bihar belt and potentially a chartbuster. The lyrics and music are simply fabulous.

Rating: 7.5/10

11): Tose Pyar Karte Hai – Remix

The remix version attracts to the ears.

Rating: 7/10

12): Most Wanted Track (Salman Khan)

The title song is called ‘Most Wanted Track’ is made of Salman Khan’s dialogues like ‘Ek Baar Jo Maine Commitment Kar Di’. It will glide with the listeners and they will love it.

Rating: 7/10

Conclusion:

On the whole, ‘Wanted’ is a catchy album laced with hummable tunes. The huge hype will surely bring good results from the stalls. Go and grab it.

Yash Raj’s films are the ones come up with a catchy melodious music. Where their films are known and liked for the elements of romance, they are adored for the good music as well. Not for all the time, they carry good stuff and spongy music but most of the time, the movies and the music do well with the masses, which is why the banner is credible. The soundtrack, which has now hit the market, is the release of Yash Raj Music and is the fusion of Punjabi and Desi spirit attached to it.

1): Hadippa (Mika Singh)

The journey takes place with the song, ‘Hadippa’ sung energetically by Mika Singh. The tone is a total fun, which the listeners will surely like. Mika attracts a lot with the vocal quality. The lyrics, written by Jaideep, are laced with full masti and celebration. The music is well scored. The video appears to be superb. Shahid and Rani both look gorgeous in different avatars. Go for it.

Rating: 7/10

2): Hadippa – Remix

The remix is rocking as well. This number is catchy. Both original and remix will grow with the listeners.

Rating: 6.5/10

3): Discowale Khisko (KK, Sunidhi Chauhan and Rana Mazumdar)

This song is set in a Baisakhi Mela. Sung by KK, Sunidhi Chauhan and Rana Mazumdar, the number is electrifying. The lyrics are splendid, which go like ‘Nach karenge, touch karenge, aaj too much karenge’. The instruments appeal to the most. The ones like dhol beats and guitar glide on the ears. The composition is boisterous.

Rating: 7/10

4): Discowale Khisko – Remix

The remix is an ordinary piece of work.

Rating: 1/10

5): Ishq Hi Rab Hai (Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam)

A love song follows next, which is crooned by Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam. Shreya with her sachcharine appeals to the ears and Sonu with his well-delivered vocals create a special niche in hearts. Lyrically and musically, the song is a treat to hear.

Rating: 7.5/10

6): Bhangra Bistar (Alisha Chennai, Sunidhi Chauhan and Hard Kaur)

Next comes is a Punjabi item song. The seductive voice singer Alisha Chennai teams up with the fire like voice singer Sunidhi Chauhan and Hard Kaur. The trio gels well with the mood of the number and deliver the goods aptly. The background chorus is well arranged. Lyrics are good and the music is fabulous.

Rating: 7/10

7): Gym Shim (Joshilay)

Joshilay winds up the album with ‘Gym Shim’. The voice is good. It is an energetic song that motivates the listener to work out. Lyrics are average and music is mundane.

Rating: 2/10

‘Hadippa’ is a lively and energetic album that fits to its mood.

Music Review: Shadow

Producer: Great Entertainments

Director: Rohit Nayyer

Cast: Naseer Khan, Milind Soman, Sonali Kulkarni and Hrishta Bhatt

Music: Anand Raj Anand

Good expectations from this film’s album are nil since there has been no strapping publicity about it. It just started showing on the channels. Besides it is a low budgeted flick with no attractive starcast. So why one would try to expect high with this album and even for film? Anand Raj Anand has scored the music for this soundtrack and also tries his hand on the writing pad along with the other lyricist Anjaan Saagri.

1): Yaariyan (Anand Raj Anand and Anushka Manchanda)

Anand Raj Anand, showing his talents on various fields in this song, opens the album. He not only composes the track but also writes and sings it. But sadly he does not succeed in either department. Anushka too fails to register any impacts. The song appears to be not working in this age because this is the one that may have worked a decade back.

Rating: 1/10

2): Masti (Sunidhi Chauhan)

Next appears an item song, ‘Masti’ sung by Sunidhi Chauhan who sings it with full fire since she is the master of chirping the item numbers. The lyrics have been written aptly as per the mood of the song. The composition is energetic. The visuals of the track have been running on all the music channels featuring Sonali Kulkarni gyrating and shaking her hips on stage. It is a front bencher number all the way.

Rating: 7/10

3): Shadow (Sukhwinder Singh and Aakruti Kakad)

Sukhwinder Singh makes the title track working to a bit. Aakruti Kakad croons the lines well. Lyrically and musically, the number is mundane having nothing to rave about. It reminds you of the early 80s tunes, which do not fit in today’s scene.

Rating: 2.5/10

4): Khumariyan (Sunidhi Chauhan)

Sunidhi pockets another item number on this soundtrack. She sings it with perfection making it lively. The track follows the lines of Masti. Lyrics are not up to the mark. Music is just about okay. Since the item numbers help you tap your feet, but this one simply gets you bored. What you enjoy in this song is the singing of Sunidhi. Visuals featuring a sexy babe are not appealing.

Rating: 2/10

5): Rabba Rabba (Roop Kumar Rathod)

The listeners still enjoy being with A R Rahman’s composed numbner, ‘Khawaja Mere Khawaja’ from Jodha Akbar. Sensing the quality of the song and being impressed by the skills of the maestro, Anand Raj Anand tries to follow the pattern in ‘Rabba Rabba’. Sung by Roop Kumar Rathod, the number is lyrically good but musically average.

Rating: 4/10

6): Dil Ke Taar (Aakruti Kakad and Anand Raj Anand)

The concluding track is ‘Dil Ke Taar’ rendered by Aakruti Kakad and Anand Raj Anand. Aakruti impresses with the voice quality but it is Anand Raj Anand who makes the listener press the stop button immediately the moment he gets behind the mike. Very poorly and badly delivered voice, he presents. Lyrics are dull and so is the music.

Rating: 1/10

Conclusion:

It is recommended to stay away from this album if you bump into it at the music stands.

Overall Rating: 1.5/10

The album begins with ‘Taali Bajao – Fast Forward Mix’. It is a funky track, which carries Hinglish lyrics. A foot tapping number, it has thrilling composition that lets you shake your bodies.

Rating: 6.5/10

A romantic track comes up next on the play-list. Sung by Shaan and Pamela, the song attracts from the very beginning since it is swaddled with the squashy voices of the vocalits. The lyrics hold values and the music is pleasant.

Rating: 7/10

Next emerges a solo remix of this number that is rendered by Amitabh Bhattachariya, who croons with style to attract the souls. It will help you press the repeat button.

Rating: 7/10

Zubin, who sang Ya Ali three years back in Gangster and looted the listeners, now sings ‘Dil Mein Hunoon’ and steals your heart from tip to toe. Lyrics are spongy and the arrangement of music is simply fabulous. You will love being with this song.

Rating: 7/10

A duet welcomes you next and is crooned by Shaan and Shweta Pandit. Both lure you full with their classically delivered vocals. A romantic number, it is laced with creative piece of poetry. The composition is what binds you all through.

Kunal Ganjawala pockets a solo for himself and then delivers it in a way loved by all. Although the song has a sad feeling attached to it, the musician Akbar Sami ensures to lace a peppy style to it that helps it generate more lovers for this song.

It is a dance number that is sung by Ali who attracts the ears. The track has slight Middle East touch attached to it. The lyrics are okay and the composition fits to the mood. This song cannot be put into the best league of this album nonetheless it can be given a listen.

Music Review: Phir Kabhi

Cast: Mithun Chakravorty, Dimple Kapadia and Rati Agnihotri

Music: Shantanu Moitra

There has not been any buzz around for the film, ‘Phir Kabhi’ that oozes out from nowhere leaving the moviegoers think that from where it comes? Starring Mithun Chakravorty, Dimple Kapadia and Rati Agnihotri in the lead, the movie fully shows that its center is based around the senior citizens of society. Since the music is out in the market now, nonetheless no promotion at all has been witnessed. The composition has been scored by none other than Shantanu Moitra, who is a name to trust since he has given the melodious music previously to hum it around like the one in Parineeta. Ajay Jhingran is the man behind the writing pad of the album. Expectations for a good music are simply not there by the music buffs due to the vivid reason, as no one knew about this film and at once the music comes out from nowhere. Anyway lets check it out.

1): Dekho Jo Dekho (Dibyendu Mukherji and Sunidhi Chauhan)

The soundtrack starts with a number, ‘Dekho Jo Dekho’ sung by Dibyendu Mukherji and Sunidhi Chauhan. The moment the song begins, the atmosphere becomes tedious since it carries the poorly delivered singing, badly penned lyrics and mundane composition. The style of the music is same like 60s nevertheless the composer could not fully apply the same to this track. Leave it.

Rating: 1/10

2): Phir Kabhi (Shaan and Shantanu Moitra)

Follows next is the title song, ‘Phir Kabhi’. This one seems better than the previous since it carries beautiful singing by Shaan. The composer Shantanu too emerges on the scene holding the mike in hands. Yes, he attracts with the voice. A folk type of song, it features good lyrics and spongy composition.

Rating: 7/10

3): Bhai Re (Ajay Jhingran and Shreya Ghoshal)

The lyricist Ajay Jhingran senses his talent of singing and then applies the same in this song, ‘Bhai Re’ along with Shreya Ghoshal. Shreya is a wonderful treat whereas Ajay goes well with the mike too. The lyrics are just about okay and the same happens with the music. It is a below average number. Only the singers appeal and besides that, there is nothing to rave about.

Rating: 2.5/10

4): Jheeni Jheeni (Bhupinder Singh and Hamsika Iyer)

The last to come is ‘Jheeni Jheeni’ that has Bhupinder Singh and Hamsika Iyer to croon the lines. As far as the singers are concerned, they do their job well. But the lyricist disappoints with the monotonous work and the composer seems to be taking his eyes off the instruments.

Rating: 1.5/10

Conclusion:

The album has nothing to talk big about. Even there has not been any hype and hoopla for the film and album. Thus how can it play safe at the music stands? Overall, it is a poor show altogether.

Overall Rating: 1.5/10

Music Review: Life Partner

Director: Rumi Jaffri

Cast: Govinda, Fardeen Khan, Akshay Khanna, Tushaar Kapoor, Parachi Desai and Geneila D’Souza

Music: Pritam

Lyrics: Javed Akhtar

Dircetor Rumi Jaffri’s much-awaited Life Partner’s music hits the stands. With Pritam on the music table and Javed Akhtar on the writing pad, one begins to expect some ilk of quality music. Let’s see what happens with this album.

1): Kuke Kuke (Shaan and Antara Mitra)

Shaan and Antara open the album with, ‘Kuke Kuke’. This is a parody type of number that features the badly sung voice of Antara Mitra (this is because of the requirement of the mood of the song where the heroine of the film Genelia D’Souza is supposed to play a bad singer). Shaan displays good vocals. Javed Akhtar does not impress as a lyricist. Music is good.

Rating: 6/10

2): Kuke Kuke – Remix Version

Remix version tries to attract the listeners’ ears and yes, it succeeds in the efforts.

Rating: 6/10

3): Teri Meri Yeh Zindagi (Soham Chakraborty and Shreya Ghoshal)

Follows next is a love duet sung by Soham Chakraborty and Shreya Ghoshal. Both do fabulously behind the mike. Lyrically, the song is appealing. And musically, it adds values also. Go for pressing the repeat button.

Rating: 7/10

4): Aage Aage (Mika Singh, Shakti Singh, Ajay Jhingaran, Soham Chakraborty and Antara Mitra)

Horde of singers has been roped in to sing this track. From Mika Singh to Shakti Singh, Ajay Jhingaran, Soham Chakraborty and Antara Mitra all moor the belts to render this number. The bunch of singers does not appeal at all. Pritam’s idea of bringing many singers to sing one song does not justify. The tune appears to be outdated. The lyrics are okay. Skip it.

Rating: 1/10

5): Gunji Aangna Mein Shehnai (Sunidhi Chauhan and Kirti Sagathia)

Kirti and Sunidhi trill this song. Kirti falls flat whereas Sunidhi somewhat goes well. The tune is no novel at all and reminds you of many previous songs. Lyrics are poor and so is the music.

Rating: 1/10

6): Poorza Poorza (Sunidhi Chauhan and Kunal Ganjawala)

Sundhi Chauhan and Kunal Ganjawala team up to warble the lines. Both display histrionics. A guest lyricist Kumar writes the lyrics and attracts. Well, this one glides on the ears and helps you enjoy the rhythm.

Rating: 7/10

7): Poorza Poorza – Remix Version

The remix version looks okay but is not up to the standards of the original.

Rating: 5/10

Conclusion:

‘Life Partner’ is not an extraordinary album but can nonetheless go with the listeners.

Overall Rating: 6/10
