After 2006, expectations were sky-high for the following year 2007. Though 2007 proved to be a mixed bag of hits and misses, 2008 is expected to be a good year for Bollywood.

Aamir Khan had to share the best director award with Shimit Amin as Taare Zameen Par and Chak De India both won major gongs at the 14th Star Screen Awards.

Musically, the year was dominated by both foot-tapping dance numbers and equally by soft, soothing tracks. There were albums which did tremendously well and boosted up the pre-release and post-release promotions of the films and there were albums which did well despite the film’s poor show at the box office.
