Musically, the year was dominated by both foot-tapping dance numbers and equally by soft, soothing tracks. There were albums which did tremendously well and boosted up the pre-release and post-release promotions of the films and there were albums which did well despite the film’s poor show at the box office.
Some of the most successful soundtracks of the year were dance hits from Om Shanti Om, Partner, Jab We Met, Heyy Babyy etc. And then there were melodious tracks from Life In a Mtero, Saawariya, Namastey London, Guru etc. The soulful numbers made you hum to their tunes every time you missed your beloved and then the groove was on with some of the hit tracks blazing out loud once you hit the floors with her/him. The year gave you Dard-e-Disco, Soni De Nakhre and then Tere Bina, In Dino to cherish and enjoy.
A special mention for the tracks which did well and were among the most requested tracks on most of the radio stations, namely; Shakira Ve (Fool n Final, Pritam), Woh Ajnabee (The Train, Mithoon), Tadap (Darling, Himesh Reshammiya), Thaare Vaaste (Shakalaka Boom Boom, Himesh Reshammiya), Cash (Cash, Vishal-Shekhar), Tera Mera Milna ( Aap Ka Suroor, Himesh Reshammiya). Rafta-Rafta ( Namastey London, Himesh Reshammiya)and Salaam-e-Ishq (Salaam-e-Ishq, Shankar –Ehsaan-Loy).
