The same month saw a major, big banner debacle and then two major hits one after the other. On one side, Laga Chunari Mein Daag got poor reviews and had a poor show at the box office (earning a meager Rs. 20.23 crores considering its high budget and marketing costs), Bhool Bhulaiya and Jab We Met, on the other hand, were one of the major success stories of the year. Bhool Bhulaiya continued a long run after a good opening at the B.O. with Jab We Met is still drawing riches being a slow and steady starter.
There were many films which did poorly at the box office, namely; Ram Gopal Verma’s Go, Koel Puri starrer It’s Breaking News, Jimmy Shergil starrer Chhodon Na Yaar, 50 Lakhs, Speed, Bal Ganesh, Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking and Mumbai Salsa.
The film of the year will be again jointly shared by Bhool Bhulaiya (earning Rs.53.70 crores) and Jab We Met (earning Rs. 29.95 crores), being superhits of the year.

guys the nominations for the star screen awards r out.the best film and director category r perfectly correct.but the screen people r jealous of shahrukh khan,so they have not nominated him for om shanti om in best actor category.this is ridiculous,how can they when om shanti om is the biggest block buster of all time in the history of indian cinema.it was purely becoz of shahrukh khan.if they can nominate hrithik roshan for the crap dhoom2,then why not shahrukh.anyway he will get it for chakde india. long live the king khan.

When it was released ticket prices where 2 rupees and highest ticket price was 10 rupees. Compare that with todays prices. 100 rupees going all the way up to 400 rupees at multiplexes. The jump in ticket prices is x25
Sholay made 15 crores when it was first released in 1975 on an everage ticket price of 5 rupees to understand how BIG that was is multiply 15crores by 25.
Inflation adjusted figure is a mind-boggling
375crores!!!! This can be rounded off to over 400crores due to re-releases etc during the years.
Compare this 400 crores to OSO which has made 80crores.

hey guys, y do u fight. both shahrukh and amir are very good actors but we have to admit that tare zameen par was great movie. I loved oso, it was a very entertaining movie but tare zameen par was very sensitive film. I didnt like chake de india but i thought shahrukh acted very well and very differently in that film and as far as amir’s acting is concerned, he was only a suppoting actor in tare zameen par, the real hero of the movie was da kid and i think he did exceptionally well. So chill dudes!!

Chak De India is biggest hit of the year if compared as per budget of the movie (as oSO was expensive movie)

I am reading a lot of stuffs but personally feel dat aamir is the real gem of the bollywood who has produced such a magnificent film like TZP.comparing aamir with anybody will b something like humiliating him.He is the real magnet of the bollywood,how could somebody comare him wih srk who has worked in such a crap film like oso,i wonder his standard is detoriating with each passing day.oso is the worst film of the year who became a hit anyway,CDI is a gud film but cant b compared with tzp since cdi is not in the same league but yes cdi is one of the better film of srk no doubt abt dat,amir is genious,what ever he does proves to b gold, when he acts,prduce,direct anything it becomes a masterpiece nd a masterstroke itself,srk cant emagine even in his dream to direct a film bcose he is not having dat much of understanding abt films he is a man of ordinary skills but aamir is a man of extraordinary skills,mindset nd creativity.so plz dont humiliate aamir by comparing him with srk or with anybody else,his work is to see for one and all,and if ur comparision is unbiased den u can easily differentiate between tzp and oso or cdi for the sake.I am not against srk but aamir has a dignity he dont dance in a party and do all nonsense acts like some of the stars in bollywood.
Hats off to aamir for his masterstroke in the name of tzp.cdi will not find a place in any major award section if placed side by side to tzp.
