Yesterday we brought you the news that acclaimed Indian actress Shabana Azmi is interested in portraying the late Benazir Bhutto in a Bollywood film on her life, and today we can reveal that the Bhatt brothers have been approached by the Pakistan People’s Party for a biopic.
Confirming the news to an Indian daily, Vishesh Films’ Mukesh Bhatt said, “Yes, the PPP has approached us with the idea. The party members connect with our sensibilities and trust us to do justice to the persona of Benazir.”
Vishesh Films will produce the film in collaboration with a Pakistan based company. The film is likely to be written by Mahesh Bhatt and directed by his brother Mukesh Bhatt. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is being penciled in for the iconic role.
