Winner of the prestigious Golden Lion award at Cannes for her movie Monsoon Wedding, Mira Nair is facing a tough time in seeking dates from the Bollywood stars. Reportedly, Mira Nair has been working on her recent project which is a short film on AIDS awareness. Nair had even zeroed upon Saif Ali Khan, Shiney Ahuja and Vidya Balan for the lead roles in the film.
But the twist is that such an acclaimed and internationally successful film maker of is finding it hard to get the dates from them.
Vidya Balan is reportedly busy with her tight schedule, so is Shiney Ahuja. Though, Saif was out of town the chances of getting his dates amidst his holidaying time might be difficult for this talented film maker.
The prestige and pride that’s associated with this international face of cross-over cinema seems to be lost in the crowd of the Bollywood factory productions. Stars are banking on the saleability and not the quality of the script. No matter what the reason, Mira Nair surely deserves a better treatment. What do you say guys? Is this justified?
