It happened as it was expected; the biggest blockbuster of 2007, Shah Rukh Khan headlined Om Shanti Om, bagged 6 awards at the RS/TB Bollywood Awards 2007.
The film overcome stiff opposition from another Shah Rukh Khan starrer, the sports flick Chak De India, to become Best Film. It’s director Farah Khan got the Best Director award, again after another close fight with Shimit Amin and Chak De India, while Arjun Rampal and Deepika Padukone were crowned Best Actor/Actress in A Villainous Role and Best Debut Actress respectively. And to top it all of, the soundtrack of Om Shanti Om, composed by duo Vishal-Shekar was Best Music of 2007, and Ajab Si was Best Song.
Shah Rukh Khan would have won Best Actor for his double role in Om Shanti Om, had it not have been for… wait for it… Shah Rukh Khan. The Best Actor category competition was only between his role in Om Shanti Om and Chak De India. The portrayal of the shamed but in the end hero Kabir Khan won him that gong. The award for Best Story was also given to Chak De India.
Rejuvenated actress Kareena Kapoor’s charecterisation of the happy-go-lucky lass Geet in Jab We Met got her the Best Actress title. Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma won Best Actor and Best Actress in Supporting Roles for the same movie, Life In A Metro. Born again actor Govinda returned with a bang and got a much deserved award for Best Actor/Actress in A Comical Role for Partner.
What was unexpected, was the award for Best Debut Actor, going to grand-son of singer Mukesh, Neil Mukesh. The actor’s first role in a Bollywood flick in Johnny Gaddar was appreciated more than Ranbir Kapoor’s Saawariya.
The Mani Ratnam directed Guru got two music awards, Best Lyrics (Gulzar - Tere Bina) and Best Playback Singer Female (Shreya Ghoshal - Barso Re). Popular fan favourite Himesh Reshammiya bagged the Best Playback Singer Male award for his rendition of Assalmu in Aap Ka Suroor.

Kareena Kapoor deserved the “Best Actress” award hands down. No questions on that. SRK in Chak De India was pretty good but Abhishek and Akshaye deserved it more. Guru should have also won for Best Film and Best Director.

First of all, I would like to say that I am not Sunny. You people have been after Sunny just because his name is same as of Sunny Deol. I totally agree with Sunny.
Dharam ji has given once again stellar performance of his lifetime and this time the media and award givers should realise their past mistake and correct it not only by simply nominating Dharam ji for award but actually conferring upon him since from the heart I say that he truly deserves it.
I have been reading comments of others and the votes they have given to SRK for his performance in Chak De India(CDI). If many people really feel that SRK deserves the award for CDI then I honestly appeal to them is to watch Apne and see how similar and at the same different both the performances (Dharamji & SRK) are owing to many reasons :-
(1) Dharam ji is 72 and SRK is 42.
(2) Dharam ji has completed about 50 years in Bollywoold which is more than the age of SRK.
(3) Dharam ji has been nominated number of times earlier in his career but has never won any award, I do not know WHY.
(4) Dharam ji’s performance in Apne is as sincere and true to life as of SRK in CDI.
(5) At this age also, see the stamina, energy, potential and the sincerity in Dharamji in Apne.
I would request the media to award Dharam ji this time since he deserves again this time and it is always better to award a person and recognise and value his talent during his lifetime and not after his death i.e. posthumously.

SRK is passion personified. Movies can’t always be made for giving a message. In this sick world we need some quality fun moments and entertainment and SRK is one of biggest entertainer in Indian history. I laughed during OSO, enjoyed it completely and that add more glitter to my diwali holidays. He and his movies deserves all awards. Even a pure bollywood fun and masala movie like OSO has messages if one likes to take.
SRK rocks and will always rock. He deserves best actor for Chakde, though for favorite movie I will rate Chakde over OSO. but still OSO deserves special mention. SRK is King.

I think Chak De India was not really a film- it was just a sports documentARY. Shahrukh did not have to act much. Om shanti om was terrible. His characterisation was weak and his talent didnt do justice to the character. If u ask me, the best acotr completely deserved to go to Abhishek fo Guru. That peformance is the best in his career and it is not an easy role to portray. He deserved it more than Shah Rukh
