AAMIR & SANJEEDA Win the hearts of the viewers & the Nach Baliye 3 trophy!
Mumbai, December 22, 2007: “I cannot believe it!” was the first expression on Aamir & Sanjeeda’s stunned faces, as they danced their way to winning the 3rd season of the pioneering dance reality show on Indian television – Star Plus’ NACH BALIYE! With stiff competition from the top most celebrities of the Indian Television and Bollywood industry, Aamir and Sanjeeda captivated the audiences for the past 14 weeks and created a dance rage. Nach Baliye 3 reached a crescendo with an exciting 4-hour Grand Finale that saw the final face off between Aamir-Sanjeeda & Rakhi-Abhishek. The moment of glory was revealed by the none other than the style bhai and hunk from Bollywood– SALMAN KHAN, who presented the duo with the Nach Baliye trophy, Rs. 20 lakhs & much sought after Chevrolet Optra
In this special ‘LIVE’ episode, viewers from across the country voted for their favourite jodi and crowned Aamir-Sanjeeda as the ‘Nach Baliye 3 Champions’. This adorable Jodi left the entire nation spellbound with their matchless performance and garnered the maximum number of viewers’ votes to win this coveted title. The finale episode saw a non-stop 8-minute dance performance from the finalists. In the solo round, Rakhi and Sanjeeda put on a great performance dancing on a ‘Taandav’ and their better-halves Abhishek and Aamir put their best foot forward on ‘Dil Ne Dil Ko Pukara’. The final dance, which was a Jugalbandi round, saw both the couples dance to ‘Jhaaom Barabar’ for the Nach Baliye 3 title.
An emotional Aamir was actually left speechless with the announcement. He exclaimed, “It was God and the faith of India that got us into this competition. I wish to thank our fans and Star Plus viewers who motivated us by pledging their support at each stage in the competition. Our very special thanks to our brilliant choreographers, Arun & Chetan, whose patience, guidance and great talent has brought us to this stage. We love you guys!”
An overwhelmed Sanjeeda added, “We are really very grateful to Star Plus and India for believing in us and giving us this title. It feels great to receive so much love, admiration, respect and faith from viewers across India. We, as a couple have proved it to the world that if you have the will to take challenges, there is no room for obstacles. From start to finish, Nach Baliye 3 has been an unforgettable experience.
