THE FLAMBOYANT Khan urged director Anees Bazmee to shoot a sexy ‘item’ number with him and a bevy of beauties in ‘Welcome’
The suave and stylish Feroz Khan is making a comeback of sorts in Anees Bazmee’s ‘Welcome’. The cast includes Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Katrina Kaif and Mallika Sherawat.
Incidentally, when Anees approached Feroz to play the role of Sikandar (Katrina’s brother), the debonair actor wanted to know more about his character. He was keen to continue with the flamboyant and sexy image that he has been carrying since the 70s with films including ‘Apradh’, ‘Qurbani’, ‘Dharmatma’ and later ‘Janbaz’ and ‘Yalgaar’. Khan even insisted that a hot number with a bevy of beauties be filmed on him.
Anees recalls, “Feroz saab is Feroz saab. He is not known as the style icon for nothing. In fact, I had already visualised a song with him being surrounded by pretty women.” Anees adds, “So we zeroed in on an item number. And let me tell you that he looks hotter than any item girl in the film.” The film has three crooks trying to get their sister married off.
