Here is your weekly round-up of the UK Box Office in relation to Bollywood movies. And this week we have some good news for all Madhuri Dixit fans.
Madhuri’s comeback flick opened up at number 11 in the charts last week, and suprisingly, this week has entered the Top 10. The Yash Raj release moved one place up and managed to accomplish something which is very rare; an Indian movie going up the charts in it’s second week of release, something which even Om Shanti Om did not manage to do. The movie made over $160,000 at the weekend.
The two big new releases, Dus Kahaniyaan and Khoya Khoya Chand both flopped. Sanjay Dutt’s 10 story home production entered the charts at number 14, while the Soha Ali Khan period drama opened at a shamefull number 36. Dus Kahaniyaan was being shown on only 24 screens so the losses for it’s distributors Eros International will not be much.
The biggest blockbuster of the year so far, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Om Shanti Om made over $30,000 in it’s 5th weekend of release and now it’s overall collections stand at a whopping $2,612,385.
