Sakshi Tanwar, the popular lead actress of Star Plus serial Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, is to appear in a comedy film with Tusshar Kapoor and Raima Sen.
Sakshi will reprise the role she currently plays in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, loved but traumatised bahu Parvati. The film is being produced by Ekta Kapoor, the power-girl behind Balaji Telefilms who produce Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. Says a source, “Sakshi is taking her small screen image to the big screen as well. Ekta didn’t have to look outside for someone to play a bahu in the film. She will be seen playing the docile, yet strong-willed bahu, with her Parvati look.” Ekta confirmed the news saying, “Yes, Sakshi is playing Parvati in the film.”
The film titled C Company, is a comedy which will also see a brief on-screen appearance of Bollywood film-maker Mahesh Bhatt. Talking about the movie, it’s lead actor Tusshar Kapoor said, “The film is a funny take on television serials and Sakshi will be playing herself in the film. There is a situation in the film where Sakshi’s character, Parvati, is about to come to an end in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and suddenly an underworld don comes and rescues her.”
The film is expected to be released early in 2008.
