The customs department gave a clean chit to Aishwarya Rai regarding the huge sum of money mailed to her from Netherlands. Aishwarya had flown from Jodhpur to Mumbai for her interrogations with the Mumbai customs department. On Monday evening, after the 2-hour long interrogation at the Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport, Aishwarya denied any invlovement in the case. The actress then flew back to Jodhpur, where she is currently shooting for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Akbar Jodha.
“We have given her a clean chit as of now. She was mentally very disturbed but cooperative (during questioning) and our officers had to pacify her,” Commissioner Customs, Western Zone, A K Prasad said.
Earlier, Aishwarya was caught in this parcel controversy after a mail in her name contained an amount of 23,000 Euros along with other electronic gadgets. Aishwarya’s father Krishnaraj Rai had earlier appeared for interrogations at the Mumbai Customs department regarding it.
The case may have the genesis in the work of an ardent fan or a prankster, but, possibly Ash may know about the sender. We ‘ll wait ‘n’ watch for the answer.
