The release date of Sarkar Raj has been pushed and pushed… but finally it has a come to a resting place.
According to some trade rumours, the Ram Gopal Verma sequel will now be released in May 2008 because Amitabh Bachchan wants it to. “March-April is a bad time to release a film because that’s examination time in all schools. Parents and children are busy and don’t venture out to see films. Sarkar Raj is a big film as Abhishek and Aishwarya are paired together for the first time after they got married, and Ramu wants to make sure nothing harms the film. Also, they want ample time to promote the film. The Bachchans want to go full throttle with the publicity of Sarkar Raj,” said a source.
The source also adds that Amitabh is taking a personal interest in the film’s promotional strategy and is looking a three month period of publicity, saying “Also Ash is the biggest surprise in the sequel, not just in terms of her character, but her performance as well. The entire family is quite anxious and excited about how the audience reacts to the film.”
