The marriage of Karan Darda on Dec 2 in Aurangabad could well sign off the year as the most high profile wedding of them all, reports Shubha Shetty-Saha
Hundreds of VIPs will be converging at politician and journalist Rajendra Darda’s son Karan’s wedding in Aurangabad this weekend. Karan will be tying the knot with Ruchira Agarwal, an advocate by profession.
It can easily be the wedding of the year. Lok Sabha MP Vijay Darda and his brother Rajendra Darda of Lokmat group are expecting almost all the who’s who of the country at the wedding to be hosted in Aurangabad.
While the family sangeet was held yesterday night with a performance by Shaan, today will be another sangeet party thrown by friend of the family, Venugopal Dhoot at Videocon House. However, the wedding, which will be held on December 2 at the Garware Stadium in Aurangabad, is where the major action is expected. The groom’s father, Rajendra Darda says, “We will have around 26 chartered flights to bring guests to and fro from Aurangabad. We are expecting at least 20,000 people, out of which around 600 will be dignitaries and celebrities.”
And the celebrity list seems endless. From the political brigade, there will be Maharashtra Governor SM Krishna, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Delhi CM Sheila Dixit, J&K CM Ghulam Nabi Azad, besides Civial Aviation Minister Praful Patel, Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav, Chemical and Fertilizer Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, besides Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, Gopinath Munde and other state leaders.
