Friday evening in Uttar Pradesh saw something unwarranted as the UP chief minister Mayawati banned Madhuri Dixit’s comeback film Aaja Nachle.
Thousands of fans of the former Bollywood Queen were left disappointed as the ban came into effect following complaints that the title song of the film contains certain castiest remarks.
CM Mayawati has also written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh demanding that the movie is banned throughout the country as it has hurt the sentiments of certain members of the community. The secretary to the CM said, “Certain words in the title
song are derogatory to a particular Scheduled Caste community.’’
The song in question has been written by Piyush Mishra and sung by Kailash Kher and Mahalakshmi. Salim and Suleiman have composed the music for it.
