The Manoj Kumar mickery saga looks set to continue even after a public apology from both Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan.
Manoj Kumar still feels that he has been humiliated enough to consider a legal action against Shah Rukh Khan, the producer of Om Shanti Om. The veteran actor was upset after his character was shown in a bad light in a couple of scenes in this year’s biggest hit.
Both Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan quickly organised a press conference and publicly apologised to Manoj Kumar, but even this apology was done in a mocked fashion. Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan themselves tried to impersonate the ‘great’ Manoj Kumar impression… a picture from the press conference can be seen below.
Manoj Kumar has said that Shah Rukh Khan promised to visit him at his home, “Shah Rukh announced that he will be visiting my place. But over the weekend, no one has come home, except some police personnel, who had stationed themselves outside my house in case he comes.”
Manoj continued to say, “I am not here to beg for anything. If he has committed a crime, he should realise that he has to personally apologise to me. In my 50 years of work, I have never held a press conference or hired a PR person. I have been extremely tolerant, but if someone hits me below the belt, it is unpardonable.” “They have shown in the movie that I have been lathi charged at my premiere. Could Bombay police hit a known star in such a public place? It is like saying that anybody can be Shah Rukh Khan’s imposter and the real SRK can be lathi charged for trying to enter the premiere of his own movie. How can I accept such humiliation?”
“I am not a man of litigation. But if there is no response from that side, I might take some action according to my solicitor’s advice,” Kumar continues.
What are your thoughts on this continuing saga… is Shah Rukh still trying to use the whole issue to promote the movie further? Should Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan not have mimicked Manoj Kumar at the press conference if they wanted to apologise from the heart? Should Shah Rukh Khan visit Manoj Kumar at home and apologise in person? Or does Shah Rukh Khan deserve to be sued for making a mockery out of a Bollywood legend? i guess manoj should drop the issue and not hold on to it, as the whole scene was just a fun scene. It wasn’t meant to harm anyone in an ill manner. definately shah rukh should apologize in person but at the same time media should put a stop to this saga and not blow it out of proportion.

I think Manoj Kumar doing all these for just publicity as I know SRK only imitate one of Manoj character who hide his face not Manoj himself Why he is upset I don’t know !!!

The way scene was and the characters were, would it be for Shah Rukh Khan and filmed by any other star, SRK would have been feeling the same as Manoj Kumar is feeling. SRK has no right to humiliate any senior. Moreover, in press conference they both did worst thing, acting like him in real life. SRK! shame on you!!

I felt it was NOT nice to get the fake Manoj Kumar to be beaten by the police men …it cud have been brought in a better n still hillarious way…had they recognized him n then gone into the theatre…..(the humour wud still have been the same).
