So, why an Indian film festival in Brazil? Well.. Brazil’s tourism department foresees to attract a potentially large Indian tourist contingent with it. Brazil will be hosting Indian Film Festival next year from March 6-11. The idea was sparked by the recent shooting of Dhoom 2 in Brazil. The film festival will be organised in collaboration by Brazil’s Academia Internacional de Cinema and Indian Trade Promotion Organisation in Sau Paulo.

The movies to be screened at the special film festival includes Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Mani Ratnam’s A Peck on the Cheek and Santosh Sivan’s The Terrorist, Krrish and an obvious Dhoom 2.

In recent times, Indian movies have become a huge rage among the young Brazilian movie-goers. Seems like Indian cinema has found a firm footing on the global stage for sure!
