EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

Khoya Khoya Chand (Singers: Swanand Kirkire, Ajay Jhingran)
Rating: 7/10
The soundtrack of Khoya Khoya Chand begins with an innovative title track which transfusions from jazz to qawaali. Rendered by lyricists Swanand Kirkire and Ajay Jhingran, the track is composed with high quality melody maintaining the roosts through the duration of the track. Khoya Khoya Chand couldn’t have asked for a better start.

Yeh Nigahein (Singer: Sonu Nigam, Antara Chaudhary)
Rating: 6/10
Set in a backdrop of the 50s Hindi Cinema, Khoya Khoya Chand gives enough scope to music composer Shantanu Moitra to experiment with various old melodies prevalent in that era of film making. ‘Yeh Nigahein’ enlivens the memories of classic jazz, melodiously sung by accompolished singer Sonu Nigam, who is accompanied by female singer Antara Chaudhary.

Chalo Aao Saiyan (Singer: Shreya Ghoshal)
Rating: 5/10
Right from the very first note that Shreya Ghoshal strikes, it is hard to believe that it is actually her. Shreya sounds absolutely different in Chale Aao Saiyan. A mujra to the core, Chale Aao Saiyan is heavily influenced by the classic musical arrangements which is heavily influenced by the sound of tabla and ghungroo. On the whole, a piece that will hold its place in the film, not in your music collection.

Khushboo Sa (Singer: Hamsika Iyer)
Rating: 6/10
Continuing the jazzy feel, Khushboo Sa is another soft melody from the soundtrack. The song is well composed in terms of orchestra arrangement but fails to evoke a second hearing. Singer Hamsika Iyer has followed the instructions of her composer but on the whole, her voice may be subdued under the dark lights of repeated kind of music.

  1. If chale ao saiyan is not a collectors choice then please get your music sense overhauled. This song is one real indian music with ageless appeal. Also the rating. What funny. Himesh reshmiya must be your favorite singer.
