For the role of a dyslexic child in Taare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan’s search ended on the student of Shiamak Davar’s dance institute SPIDA, Darsheel Safary.

In the film, Aamir Khan plays the character of Darsheel’s teacher.

Taare Zameen Par is Aamir’s directorial debut and his second attempt at production after Lagaan.
