It was supposed to be a sure fire hit… it had everything going for it. An established and award winning director (Sanjay Leela Bhansali). Two hot newcomers (Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor), and two box office smashers (Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee). But, what happened… was not expected at all.
Saawariya has been panned by the critics and harldy anyone is going to the cinema to watch it… even when the first screening was held, for cast and crew, the audience was yawning and leaving before the intermission. Salman Khan was one who left much much earlier, but that was for other reasons. But what do the parents make of this dismal flick… the parents of Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor… let’s find out.
Anil Kapoor is currently not talking to the media, and is very disappointed with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He didn’t expect this kind of movie but he has taken heart from the fact that his daughter Sonam has been appreciated for her acting and that she has or will sign more movies very soon.
Rishi Kapoor is laughing it away, and is not showing much emotion. He has spoken to the media and has tried to put a positive angle on it. He has confirmed that his son Ranbir Kapoor will re-launch the RK banner. Ranbir is currently writing the script himself, he will star in the movie himself, and Rishi Kapoor will direct. Rishi should be more than happy because Ranbir is the only one good thing to come out of Saawariya.

aww bless the parents.. poor them! i feel bad for ranbir! he actually is a pretty good actor
x
nway its ony their first im sure if they get a better director the ywould do brilliantly!
I like Rishi’s positive attitude..”My son is going to be successful no matter what bc he has the acting genes”..lol!!
who the hell declared sawariya a flop, suddenly everybody is talking negative about this movie.stop it yaar .its a beautifull movie which is a hit of course.so much drama in your article yaar parents…. upset… all this media is a big chamcha of all the super stars.apriciate both the movies but dont declare it a flop for no reasons.
The majority of posters on here are crazy, warped & fanatical. Who know nothing about quality cinema.
Shah Rukh Khan is the worlds worst actor & Om Stinky Om is the worst film of the year.
Farah Khan needed 35 bollywood stars in her movie to help it gain publicity. Everyone says SLB tricked the audience by giving Salman a 5 minute role. What about Farah who made everyone think Om Stinky Om was going to have 35 bollywood stars in- they only appeared for 5 sec each for an item song!!!
This “Tony” is always writing pro-SRK articles on here since getting it wrong about Chak De India. Pretty sad really if he doesnt realise the public arent stupid!
The Same “Tony” has poisted teh article about Saawariya making 14million! which declares it a superhit!
Ive sene both films and neither are anythign special. OSO isnt SRK best film like he’s making out. If you want to read honest reviews of films, go to smashits.com. Thats where they give an unbiased realistic review of films from india. The first half of OSO is brilliant however it begins bore in the second half which is the reality! As for Saawariya, the only let down in the film is Salmans edited role which I agree was misleading. However the film otherwise isnt all that bad.
I dont agree at all. I think you should take more responsibility for your articles. You say that Ranbir is the only thing good coming out of Saawariya and then again you say Sonam is appreciated for her acting? So then you are acknowledging that both are good? So pls give us intelligent readers s’thing with more substance.
I REALLY LIKE RISHI KAPOORS ATTITUDE….RANBIR RE LAUNCH SOON,,,JUST WAITING TO SEE U!! AND DONT LOOK BACK AT THE PAST!!!
oso was far better than saawariya, srk is the world’s best actor
OSO is probably one of the worst movies to be released in quite some time… and SRK once again proves he is the world’s most pathetic “actor”…
SRK IS THE WORST ACTOR IN THE WORLD
OM SHANTI OM IS A BIG BIG AND SHOULD BE A BIG FLOP
IT IS WORST MOVIE OF SRK
AND SAAWARIYA ALSO A BIG FLOP
I THINK THE ONLY FILM WHICH CAN GIVE US GOOD ENTERTAINMENT AND GOOD MESSAGE IS TAARE ZAMEEN PAR
BETTER WATCH IT
OSO was a great movie whoever the f**k told it was flop dies.SRK is the king of bollywood plus i dont feel bad bout saawariya.ranbir has got gud skills.storyline was gud but lengthy. but SLB shudnt hav cut the invited party by the OSO group SHAME ON U SLB!!!!1
India-bollywood is going down the toilet.
Stars waste money, thinking that can make their kids into movie stars.
Ranbir, just leave your house and get a job and get a condo in New York.
And come back and work with independent filmmakers.
Forgot your father or mother.
Ranbir, you are not an individualist or a unique actor.
You are being helped financially by your rich Father.
You are just a spoiled kid.
You are not Brat Pitt.
You are not Marlon Brando.
You are not Amitabh Bachchan.
You are feed off your father’s money.
Do something by yourself without their help.
Disgusting.
and btw what were these dads doing during the making? sleeping? tomtoming all over the place in all dance shows? hadnt they seen what had been made? why didint they let us the poor audience know? they shud be charged for cheating….lol..no stardom yet for these kids …they need to get over their depresssion first ..amd constant jibes from the public…there goes the flop star of baanwariya…so sad…no place to hide their faces…such a ashameful film it has been …oso is only marginally better
trade pundits have declared as saanwariya and oso to be the biggest flops of the year…partner is the biggest hit..so far…rejoice
I think you guys are completely wrong in declaring Saawariya a flop. Come on guys look at the creativity of the film. Jst because it doesnt contain the dishum dishum, masala that others do, look at SLB’s concept. Its realistic, and it promotes both Ranbirs and Sonam’s acting to the fullest. So what if the masses dont appreciate it. Its an intellectual film, and even if u guys cant understand it, appreciates the efforts behind making it. Its not as bad as other biggies which didnt quite make it.
I not seen Saawariya but got the CD, soundtrack is ace! Heard all the reviews trashin’ it. Was in Inida when it was released same time as Om Shanti Om and chose to see the latter. Is that u Mr. Joshi? Guess who
To- Divash Joshi,Eresha,Max and especially “aminzak”
i think most of the saawariya supporters in here have commented out of sheer ignorance and has no idea of current business in bollywood or business pimping, obviously creativity is factor which has to be considered in filim making but only to a certain extent, contemporary public demand coupled with inviting ideas has to be given top priority in the script as well as direction if the filim gross revenue is to stand any chance of exceeding the budget,in which case it is considered a hit, which was not the case with saawariya, its budget was 40 Crore Rs,from the looks of it,i dont think it grossed back even half of that amount…so at the end of the day keep in mind that filim making is a business, and in today’s business world the “customer is the king”,saawariya in a few words is just a cheap melodrama consisting of some outdated romantic sendiments which is not the current public demand among indian audience nationally and internationally,so try to be a bit more realistic next time u comment on something….peace out!
SRK isn’t the world’s worst actor, but he isn’t as great as people make him out to be. OSO was not a good movie, Farah wasn’t very original in the sense that she couldn’t come up with a better reason for OM to come back other than good ole reincarnation. how typically indian! directors need to come up with their own ideas not use the work of the gods to explain how he managed to come back and avenge his death! Saawariya on the other hand was a very insightful film, the themes and ideas were very realistic yet at the same time original. it was in no way cliched and the music was superb. unfortunately public demand for such movies is very low, as most dull-brained people like to get excited over seeing their favourite stars appear for five minutes in one movie, hence why these people would not enjoy watching a film designed for a more mature and understanding audience. The movie itself was undeniably good, but it did not fit the current demands of the public, who nowadays will only watch something that has a “happy ending”.
