Yesteryears actors Asrani, Jagdeep, Paintal, Dinesh Hingoo, Viju Khote, Birbal, Jr. Mehmood, Manorama, Pran and Manmaujee will be seen together on the big screen in the remake of Bombay To Goa.
Confirming the development to Businessofcinema.com, debutant director Raj Pendurkar says, “We have cast many veteran actors to participate in the shooting of the bus journey and some other scenes. They fit the roles perfectly. We are proud to have veteran actors in our film. However, we are not exactly remaking Bombay To Goa. The film is just titled the same. We are shooting in Mumbai with these actors.”
D.K. Shroff (business manager of many a Bollywood stars like Milind Soman, Yukta Mookhey, Preeti Jhangiani, Anupama Verma, Sherlyn Chopra and Prashant Narayan) has now taken the onus of managing work for these senior actors.
Shroff says, “The film has many senior actors like Asrani, Jagdeep, Paintal, Dinesh Hingoo, Viju Khote, Birbal, Jr. Mehmood, Manorama, Pran and Manmaujee. They’ve given all their life to acting and nothing else. Like me, many actors have been inspired by these veterans in their hey days and have come to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. Today, these actors have grown old and are out of work. I have decided to do promote these actors by being their manager, without charging them any fee or commission. I have approached them and have begun by giving work to Birbal, Manmaujee and Dinesh Hingoo in Phir Hera Pheri.”
