Bheja Kum (Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Bugs Bhargava, Shankar Sachdev, Raaj Gopal Iyer, Ravi Khanwilker, Loy Mendonsa, Amole Gupte, Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan, Ram Madhvani) Rating: 4/10
Monotonous yet different is the lingo of Bheja Kum, which has been interestingly rendered by ten singers. The lyrics depict a funny state in a child’s life where he is bogged down by the pressures of studies. With guitar strumming throughout, the music belongs to the genre of rock, making Bheja Kum an average rendition without the visualistic appeal.
Maa (Singer: Shankar Mahadevan) Rating: 7/10
Another song from the kitty of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy which boasts of a simple situational orchestra, emphasizing on the lyrics and rendition of lead singer Shankar. Maa should be given a hearing for its well crafted lyrics gelling in a soft musical rhythm.
Mera Jahan (Singer: Auriel Cordo, Ananya Wadkar, Adnan Sami) Rating: 7/10
Mera Jahan is certainly one of the best songs heard in the album so far. The song is an intelligent blend of music, boasting of soft rendition by child singers Auriel Cordo and Ananya Wadkar, pumped up by the very talented Adnan Sami, who leaves his typical style of singing to take Mera Jahan to an altogether different level. Not to miss the quality mood swings in the music.
Ishaan’s Theme (Instrumental) Rating: 5/10
Simple, like the movie itself, Ishaan’s theme carries a tag of music which is usually heard in the restaurants. The key strokes of piano are good but not go the extra distance to add value to the soundtrack of Taare Zameen Ke.
