Even before her first movie hits the theatres, Sonam Kapoor is in hot demand.
The daughter of Bollywood legend Anil Kapoor has signed on to play the female lead opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Dilli 6.
A friend of Mehra says, “Sonam Kapoor has been finalised to play the lead role in Rakeysh Mehra’s film Dilli 6. Earlier, Mehra was very keen to sign Kareena Kapoor and Soha Ali Khan for the role but the moment he signed Abhishek, he dropped the idea of signing Kareena altogther. After Saawariya trailers hit the small screen, Sonam bagged the role. Sonam is also pretty excited about working with Mehra and Abhishek Bachchan. The film will go on the floors in the second week of December in Delhi.”
Sonam’s debut flick Saawariya, will release tomorrow.
