Jagjit Singh, the name is credited to have revived the ghazal singing tradition in the country along with wife Chitra and enjoys a huge fan following.

But Chitra stopped singing after their son Vivek’s death in a tragic car accident in Mumbai. Singh however didn’t because he saw it as a way to overcome the great loss.

Singh, who is said to be the highest taxpayer in the music industry in 2006, is involved in lots of charity work and most of his earnings go to NGOs like CRY and ALMA.
