The film begins in 1954 and ends in 1965. The film is based in the Hindi film industry of the 50s. It is the story of two talented people. There is a writer-director (Shiney Ahuja) who liberates an actress (Soha Ali Khan) from the stranglehold of a powerful actor (Rajat Kapoor), and then begins to use her for himself. In the end, he realises the folly of his ways and atones for it.
