During the casting of No Smoking, Ayesha Takia simply refused to make love or kiss onscreen, which pushed Anurag Kashyap to the extent at which he had to re-write the whole character of Ayesha in the film.
Initially, when Ayesha told Anurag that she would not do the bold scenes his way, Anurag didn’t offer to make changes to suit her convenience.
Later, the two of them met again, and Anurag decided to cast in Ayesha after making a lot of alterations.
THAT WAS VERY GOOD OF AYESHA. AT LEAST SHE IS NOT LIKE OTHER ACTRESSES WHO ARE READY TO SELL THEIR BODY FOR FAME AND MONEY. WELL DONE AYESHA. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
