Ranbir Kapoor calls himself a huge fan of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. And the very fact that both of them were born on the same day gives the newcomer a huge high.
Says Ranbir, “I love her old songs from RK Films, specially Aa ab laut chalen and all the songs of Satyam Shivam Sunderam.
I love old songs of the 1950s and 60s. My all-time favourite number in the world is Kissi ki muurahanton pe ho nissar by Mukeshji.”

Ranbir loves Lataji songs and so does SLB the director of Saawariya. So why didn’t they have Lataji render a nice romantic duet with either Sonu or Udit and have it filmed at the beginning title credits of the movie.
In the rest of the movie it would be alright to have young singers singing for the younger Ranbir and Sonam.
Although Lataji has sung some hits for first timers such as for Preity Zinta for whom she sang Jiya Jale which became popular.
