BOUVET-LADUBAY PRESENTS ” ARAAISH” IN AID OF SAVE THE CHILDREN, INDIA
Bouvet-Ladubay, a premium winery in the Loire Valley, France, now owned by the UB Group, hosted Araaish, a one day shopping soiree in aid of the Save the Children India Foundation , co hosted by sisters Mana Shetty and Isha Mehra as a tribute to their mother the late Mrs Vipula Kadri, on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Blue Sea, Worli Seaface from 11 a.m. – 9p.m.
Araaish was a day to shop for select lifestyle ware by leading lifestyle designers. The impressive list of participants who stepped forward to support the cause were Jewels by Queenie- Queenie Dhody, Contemporary Wear by Mana And Isha, White Window Furniture and Accessories by Twinkle Khanna, Manaaiki by Nandini Mariwala, Cue – Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna, Shoes & Bags Stoffa, Silver Streak Silverware by Tina Sajdeh, Gifted by Tarana and Rashna, Bags and Co-ordinates by Pamela Bubber, Jewellery by Curio Cottage, Windrose by Alpana Ajmera, Bags by Lalita Jalan, Armaan by Sunaina Puri, Sarees by Anushkka Khanna, Hirkani Ethnics by Ujwala & Prianka .
Save the Children India also put up a stall with decorative products such as gift bags, batuas, festive stationery, wine bottle holders made by the adolescent girls.
Bouvet-Ladubay served its premium rage of wines all day long at Blue Sea including Bouvet Brut, Bouvet Rubis Demi-Sec, Chinon Rouge – A.O.C. , Coteaux du Layon , Saumur Blanc . Finger food by blue Seas did the rounds to the accompaniment of live music and singer.
Over 4000 women shopped all day at Araaish hosted by Mana Shetty & Isha Mehra , in a lifestyle day organized impeccably by Sharmilla Khanna. Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Neerja Birla, I.M. Kadri, Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, Kirron Kher, Vidya Malavade, Juhi Chawla, Avanti Birla, Javed Ahmed, Raja Dhody, Mustafa & Rukshana Eisa, Komal Chabbria & Rajiv Vazir, Rima Jain, Nitasha Nanda, Tanya Dubsh, Natasha Poonawalla, Prerna Goel, Nandita Mahtani, Devieka Bhojwani, Shabina Khan, Ramona Narang, Indu Mahtani, Madhoo Shah, Niketan Madhok Archana Goel, Bhavana Pandey, Kintu Bajaj, Chainanai, Kekashan Patel, Ekta Raheja, Anu Deewan, Arti Surendranath, Dolly Thakore, Reshma Bombaywalla, Laila Lamba , Sunaina Vahi, Zeba Kohli, Kahini Arte Merchant, etc were some of he celebrities who supported the cause.
Said Dr Vijay Mallya, “Bouvet-Ladubay, which defines luxury and sophistication, is delighted to be part of an event which blends a great cause with fashion and lifestyle. The UB Group is happy to pledge its support to the Save the Children Foundation to further the cause of children’s education.”
Say Mana Shetty and Isha Mehra, ” We think it’s a great philanthropic gesture on the part of Dr Vijay Mallya ’s Bouvet Ladubay to come forward to support Araaish. We hope Araaish can be a one-stop destination for Diwali shopping. It’s a sentimental journey for us to work towards a cause which our mother founded.”
Says Sharmilla Khanna, ” When we conceptualized Araaish, we were overwhelmed by the support received from the participants and especially from Dr Vijay Mallya to make this lifestyle day happen towards garnering for Save the Children India. For me it is an ode to Vipula aunty. We thank all of Mumbai’s women who come out shopping to make the day a grand success and to raise as much awareness and funds towards Save the Children India.”
Twinkle Khanna, ” I pledge my support to Save the children to collect funds towards Vocational training programs for adolescent girls of the community through their centers in Mumbai, with an aim to making them self sufficient and economically independent members of society. The White Window has done a special range of furniture and accessories for the festive season ahead which we will be showing at Araaish.”
Queenie Dhody, ” I support a movement called Save Our Sisters (a program by Save the Children India), an anti-trafficking campaign initiated to combat sexual exploitation and child abuse. The Jewels by Queenie range hopes to contribute in a small way toward preserving jewels for the generations ahead in India.”
Adds Mana Shetty, Trustee Save the Children India ” Funds raised by Araaish will be used for vocational training for the mentally challenged and the hearing impaired adolescents.”
Blue Sea has been extremely generous at providing the venue and diverting funds towards Save the Children India.
