Manoj Bajpai launches NITU MAJHI 3rd Design book
“Jewel Regent—beyond luxury”
On Thursday 11th October 2007 film star Manoj Bajpai unveils Nitu Majhi’s 3rd Book on Jewellery designs ” JEWEL REGENT—beyond luxury “. The significance of this new book is that in designing it is emphasizing on “Bangles” and “Tennis Bracelets”. The designs are multi-purpose. The same jewellery can be worn as a ring or a bracelet because its design makes it expandable. Also accent is more on big chunky precious stones and intricate designs are crafted on the stones to create the Mughal era. For this occasion, Manoj Bajpai said, “I am too am an artist and I will always support creative people. Nitu Majhi has struggled a lot and reached this place in his industry where big branded jewelers are accepting his designs. I wish him all the luck.”
Nitu Majhi’s earlier two books on jewellery designing are “Diamond Flash” and “Style Bangles”. He is one of the rising and most creative Jewellery designers’. An expert in the art of designing, he sets an exemplary inspiration for today’s youth. At a very young age, Nitu had started mixing contemporary designs into traditional, which is a huge attraction for today’s youth. “I have learned this skill totally through experience and self motivation. In today’s modern changing times we need to give proper importance to designing in different style, pattern, and forms,” says Nitu.
These classic designs were appreciated and accepted by young consumers. Naturally, Nitu Majhi’s next step was to make his designs available for better and wider consumer application in form of Books in this trade. Today his design books are circulated amongst Mumbai’s famous jewellers like Tribhuvandas, P. P jewels and other known jewellery shops located in Opera House and Zaveri Bazaars.
Originally Nitu had begun his career as an Embroider. He enjoyed creating designs on cloth. Once he applied that contemporary design of embroidery on jewellery, which was successful. Jewellers liked what they saw and he started receiving enquired for more jewellery designs. So Nitu took to jewellery designing and launched his first book “Diamond Flash”, which received good response.
Coming from the city of Calcutta , this young man earned a name and became popular in the field of jewellery designing without any professional degree course. Only training that he has taken is a casual training for 3 years from Zaveri Bazaar in Mumbai to understand the technicalities of the trade.
