And the first Indian Idol is ….. Abhijeet Sawant. Not Prajakta Shukre! Remember, how often we are hopeful that a girl will win a reality show title, but ultimately, its a man’s game. Not anymore.
With the crowning of Sanchita Bhattacharya as the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little champion, there is a welcome change. Back in Indian Idol 2 as well, Antara Mitra finished fourth in the league of Idol hopefuls. There were eye-brows raised in the voting patterns that always showed a bias towards the male contenders. Promising crooner Himani Kapoor bowed out of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 leaving the stage open for the male competitors again. But, after all the scepticism and blame-game, its the talent and the charm oozing out of Sanchita that got you.
Right? So, guys! better watch out, as Alka Yagnik says lady-brigade is here to stay and rock u too.
