Exclusive: Saawariya music fever in UK is all hype
Published by  Webmaster  at 12:23:16 am on October 2, 2007

Here at radiosargam.com we bring you the news behind the headlines… and not just the facts. We delve into the background of a particular story, look at it from the roots, and then bring you the ‘actual’ truth, and not just reported facts.

Most Internet Bollywood websites usually get an email or a phone call from a distributor or film producer, who is valiantly trying to promote his/her movie… The website editors than use that info and write up an article and publish it. What does this mean? This means that the readers never get the actual truth… so if you want to know the truth behind a story… then stay locked at RS.

And today we bring one of these truths… only for you.

You must have heard a few stories on some other websites regarding the success of Saawariya music in the UK. How it was widely pre-booked, is being listened to in restaurants, sweet shops, taxis etc, and is highly popular. Well my friends this is not true.

The actual truth is that Saawariya music is not being appreciated at all in the UK. In fact it is selling even less than what the music of Devdas sold. It is still early days and I am sure it will pick up near to the film’s theatrical release, but right now it is not doing that well.

What is doing well, is selling in the droves, is being played from sweet shops to restaurants, is the music of Om Shanti Om. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer’s soundtrack has become huge and is getting even bigger. We could have got you quotes from people trying to promote their shops, but we don’t need them… you probably are intelligent enought to know the difference…

  1. Wow, a mention of Om Shanti Om without a dig at Shahrukh Khan?? I’m impressed, Tony. BTW, I think that the music of OSO is more fun and diverse than Saawariya. Not saying that the Saawariya soundtrack sucks but it is quite boring while OSO has an array of different styles.

  3. this writer tony has no idea.i was in UK last weekend and got the information that the music of saawariya is liked by everyone and even though its behind Om Shanti Om its still a good success.and it has sold more audios than devdas did in the same time period.

  7. OSO is for crappy minds,
    Saawariya has dented OSO’s mine,
OSO is ll hype and no quality,
Saawariya touches d heart of everybody,
Some people just wanna ride on hype,
OSO is one of dose guys,
Dafliwale and in d lines of dhinchaak music –
OSO is riding Saawariya for d time being,
As d time passes by Saawariya will linger,
Where as OSO will not be remembered as d Main Hoon Naa soundtrack.
No one’s mind can recall Main Hoon Na’s more dan one song,While everyone still remebers Khamoshi’s love lorn melodies,
Aaj main Upar says OSO music team ‘cos dey are riding on d Saawariya’s music fame.

So Let d time and m usic speak and we all can shut up and enjoy d music.

  9. remember Ghayal vs Dil, Raja Hindustani vs Ghatak and Lagaan vs Gadar. All these above mentioned film were released on the same day and were big hits. So i think both Saawariya and OSO will be big hits if they are quality movies.
