Bollywood bombshells Bipasha Basu and Aishwarya Rai could go head to head… in a Hollywood film.
Much has been made about the two sizzling beauties, be it their love lives, their Bollywood careers, or which one of the two will break Hollywood first. Bipasha Basu and Aishwarya Rai are two of India’s most talked about ladies, and now the whole world could be talking about them… if Ben Kingsley has his way.
The Hollywood actor, famous for playing Mahatama Gandhi and winning an Oscar for it, is all set to play the Moghul emperor Shah Jahan in an upcoming big feature flick produced by Hollywood and based around the love monument that is the Taj Mahal. News has already come to us that Aishwarya Rai will play Mumtaz to Ben Kingsley’s Shah Jahan, but now it has been reported that Bipasha Basu could be playing the role of Shah Jahan’s eldest daughter Jahanara Begum.
The news has yet to be confirmed, but if is true, this will see two of Bollywood’s greatest starlets on-screen once again. Do recall they were paired opposite Hrithik Roshan and Uday Chopra, respectively, in last year’s mega smash hit Dhoom 2.
Aishwarya Rai has already confirmed that she will become Mumtaz, but Bipasha might not want to play second fiddle to Aishwarya Rai. But saying that, this will be an internationally promoted film… so who cares if Aishwarya gets all the limelight… a little light on Bipasha in Hollywood will still be more than she could ever have dreamt of.
Aishwarya’s Hollywood adventure has not yet become fruitful… after she turned down the romantic lead opposite Will Smith in Hitch, she has seen disaster in the form of epic European produced flick The Last Legion. She did rule the Box Office for a week or two in the United Kingdom with Bride And Prejudice and showed her sentimental acting prowess in Provoked. In a few months time she will appear in a few scenes with veteran comedian Steve Martin in The Pink Panthar 2.
Bipasha’s western tales have yet to begin. Since her exploits with Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo, the Bengali babe has become pretty well known. Aishwarya’s former agent Simone Sheffield has managed to bring her a few projects in California, one being the role in a multi-arch story on renowned American drama LOST. This story has not yet been confirmed.

I don’t care to win that miniscule $10. Sir Ben Kinsgley
was a one trick pony. He was good in Gandhi and he will be remembered for his role.
Gandhi is a known figure in history and with superb screenplay and direction and
solid production values Gandhi became a hit. I do not see any good prospects for
the Hollywood based movie on Taj Mahal and Shah Jehan. Both Aish and Bipasha are
wasting their time. They should forget the pay package and opt out.
Aish had a big role in The Last Legion and she did her part well but unfortunately
the movie flopped because it got bad reviews.The script was awful and some of the
other actors looked quite unenthusiastic. Bipasha may be better off with a role in the Lost series.
But not playing some Indian character. I still feel that Aish would have done wonders in the Hitch movie playing the role of Allegra Cole that was done by Amber Valletta. That is the type of role that Bipasha or Aish should be seeking.
I thought Aish had a big role in the Pink Panther 2 but now I read that it is just a few scenes. Why would she do it ?
she only stars just for the fame…to get the hollywood’s attention .. she doesn’t have any talent to act and she’s being ridiculed of her performances … it’s best for her to stay in a place where she can earn the love of her fans rather than be greedy and losing all of what she has…bollywood was made because india adopted hollywood and changed to match that.. so why try for hollywood as well? she’s not proud of our indian culture so she rushes to the next big thing to just get the fame and money…and it’s really sad…besides she’s desperately craving for that hollywood fame instead of the bollywood where she can get all the fame and love of her fans… it’s like she’s not entirely happy until she stands next to allllll the hollywood actors ..people should be happy with what they have and she’s obsessed about these hollywood crap lately only because she thinks low of bollywood ..her national treasures are looked down upon.. and it’s really sad… everyone has their strengths and hers is modelling not acting..
