Hum To Aise Hain (Singer: Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, Swanand Kirkire, Pranab Biswas) Rating: 7/10
We heard it last in Bunty Aur Babli, and now in Lagaa Chunari Mein Daag. The song ‘Hum To Aise Hain’ brings out the carefree nature of these two sisters played by Ranu Mukherjee and Konkana Sen Sharma. Residing in a small city like Benaras, the serene nature of Indian music needs no western influence to carry the song with poetic lyrics penned by Swanand Kirkire.
Zara Gungunalein Chalo (Singer: Babul Supriyo, Mahalakshmi Iyer) Rating: 7/10
Zara Ghungunalein Chalo goes easy on the ears with the vocal chords of Babul Supriyo and Mahalakshmi Iyer flexing with an innovative set of musical arrangement comprising of sounds from the various eras. The simplicity of this track makes it a definite lovable offering from Shantanu Moitra.
Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (Singers: Shubha Mudgal, Mita Vashisht) Rating: 7/10
Unexpectedly, the title track is not an out and out classical number in the offering. The song is extremely well designed by Shantanu, who uses the soulful voice of Shubha Mudgal and the husky tone of Mita Vashisht to create the haunting ambience for the track. The song is a certain hit in the offering, but cannot be termed as a classic like the original.
Ik Teekhi Teekhi Si (Singers: KK, Shreya Ghoshal) Rating: 6/10
Hear Ik Teekhi Teekhi only for the excellent use of poetic words in the commercial cinema. The song is simplistic in its approach and goes well on the ears. Don’t miss the end of this track as it bears resemblance in the lyrics borrowed from ‘Hum To Aise Hain’, used in this musical arrangement.
