The fashion magazine Vogue is launching in India this weekend with a print run of 50,000 copies – more than double that of its nearest rival.
In a similar move to its US version, Vogue India will include high-end features on global fashion and beauty trends. Vogue India is edited by Priya Tanna. The first cover will feature Bollywood stars Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra and Preity Zinta.
Vogue India has collaborated with a leading distribution company, the Living Media Group, to make its flagship available in 5,000 outlets in 40 towns across the country.
The magazine’s debut issue, which costs 100 rupees or £1.24, has more than 160 pages of advertising.
Vogue India follows in the footsteps of its rivals Marie Claire, which launched in India last summer, Cosmopolitan’s Indian edition launched in 1997, and Elle’s in 1996.
