Ramesh Sippy, director of original Sholay doesn’t want to remake his masterpiece as he feels that the original was a classic which should not be touched.

According to Sippy, the idea of a remake came up 7 years ago when his family asked him to remake the original. The same was refused by the film maker.

Says Sippy, “Sholay could have been made a little shorter and sharper but then the intent will be lost. I was asked by my family to remake it about seven years ago and I refused.”
