Ever wondered what goes into the making of a celebrity?
Ever wondered the state of flop actors in Bollywood?
What do the newspapers gain out of the ‘Page 3’ section?
Are events and parties shortcut to stardom?
Every day when I open the newspaper, I get amazed by the amount of coverage given to the Page 3 events, which are nothing but a gathering of wannabe and flop actors of Bollywood. Do actors like Meghna Naidu, Kim Sharma, Rakhi Sawant address the entertainment quota of readers of this century? I find no sensibility involved behind the making of such sensational news. Something that appears uncanny to me.
The sheer presence of such people in the events and parties signifies the free time available with these second grade actors. Though most of the Bollywood duds stay away from social networking, it is their pure greed that draws them to get noticed in the scantily dressed avtars.
Newspaper dailies have taken over the status of gossip mongers, with journalism depicting the foolishness allowed in Page 3 events. What goes behind the making of a daily? Is it the headline that says, “100 dead in communal riot” or the titillating pictures of media celebrities with statements like ‘Cric star Yuvraj seen with svelte Kim’ or ‘Red Hot party gets hotter with Rakhi Sawant’.
Give me a break! Why will a person dying to look out for entertainment read about the clothes worn by the so called “stars” present in the ‘All white night’! The devilish instincts surrounding these stars make them shine, well yes, it acts as a shortcut to stardom.
The world is aware of the amount of skin selling going behind the making of a star. However, casting couch is just an admiration in the same direction. The flip side is that the process lacks transparency; until you make yourself available, no one is going to couch on you.
Freedom of expression has got a new denotation, its money that speaks for the heartless souls who monger around these photo shoots in order to get a flight to stardom.
Better said than done, life is going to move in the direction shown by the circumstances. For people like Rakhi Sawant, being a star is the ultimate goal. Newspaper dailies are just a medium to say, “Hey you, I’m free. Cast me!”
