Dhokha classifies as a dark film, brooding with wounds and relationships. Certainly, it is not for people who look out for meaningless form of entertainment.
Dhokha speaks the truth witnessed by the common man. We know it all but we pretend to ignore the underlying facts.
The first half sets the stage for a stunning second part. The direction, along with the script is the main protagonist of this flick. Likewise, the film also comes with its set of drawbacks. A few events come as a surprise with a lack of introspection.
More importantly, it is the climax that leaves you spellbound.
Coming to the technical aspects, screenplay is taut, in synch with the class cinematography. Music forms part of the narration, taking the story to its destination.
Actor Muzamil Ibrahim needs to credit his director Pooja Bhatt for discovering and exploring his expressive talents. With a few more takes in the filmi circuit, Muzamil can raise his levels of acting. Tulip Joshi looks beautiful. Anupam Kher is a must watch. He is a powerhouse of acting. Gulshan Grover is competent. Ashutosh Rana enlightens his character with the darkness of negativity.
Overall, Dhokha is a good film which should do some good business after a dry weekend.
